Not to be a dick, but it’s totally dependent on the player. For me, I’m terrible with honoka. Her movesets just don’t flow with my playstyle. But I’m basically top tier with helena and nico. All depends on who the player is comfortable using.

Honoka is the best character ever, i am playing by her but i would not sat that i am playing as good as you. She has a lot movements and i understand why most people deslike her, cause she has specific timing and damage not so high, in order to perfect performance need to be a good player and know a lot combos. But i agree with people who says that this character is not suitable for begginers.

Honoka is a good character, but the only problem is her range. If her range got buffed, then she would arguably be one of the best characters in the game.

As a main of her in doa5 and a secondary user in 6 I must say she is most Definetly the worst character in doa6. I've tried putting her up against the entire roster to see what match up she could actually win and she LITERALY loses ever match up. If she had the damage out put she had on 5 then I don't think she would be because her combos and nighttime grab where she gets a guaranteed combo is really good. But her damage makes it suck. Its sickening to have to do combos while using break blow cancels to get decent damage while other characters get the same damage output for much less with one juggle. The only way she can get hi damage realistically is from her advanced hold juggles which 9/10 you wont be landing a lot unless your a hold god like blades. Other than that you have to use the meter cancel as well as the environment to do major damage. But the thing with that is other characters can INSTA KILL using the environment see that really doesn't count either. She's simply out preformed by the cast due to damage

Idk what exactly makes her “low tier” bad range doesn’t mean a character is low tier. She has the speed, damage output, stuns, offensive holds, mixup, reset throw. She has almost every tool in the game. She’s definitely not low tier.

On top of that, her good moves come from her stances which in order for her to go into most of them, she's needs to get A hit confirm. If not the moves that go Into her stances are unsafe and easily punishable. Who's not gana block? Everone blocks and that limits her options considerably.She also is unsafe on a lot of stuff out side of her stances,She lacks tracking. My main point is unless your a hi tier player like blades here, its super hard to make her work in a top tier world were every other character LITERALY outrages her and can use there best options with ease were as she need to go into a stance to use her best stuff IF you can ever get the hit conferms to use them And lastly not many people know this but honokas attacks actually do less Damage than the actual chatacters version for the males anyway. The females she does the same damage. All I'm saying is obviously blades would make her look op. But if your looking at the character alone against the rest them She's lacking. But she'sstill usable. I will say that HIS honoka isn't lowtier
