It is so incredibly satisfying to see you transform an old, dirty looking board into something so beautiful. Revealing what was actually there from the beginning. 👍🏻 My face is not only smiling so is my heart!! ❤❤❤

Devid wood is all natural however it’s put together it’s amazing. I don’t care how long you’ve had it. You still look at and see something you’ve never seen before. It’s really that amazing. But anyway whatever you and Dessy put ur hands to It comes out like a piece of artwork.

If you decide to tweak the beam a bit, may I suggest you use a rounded cattle hoof trimmer’s tool, and make one or two elongated gouges along the newly inserted piece of wood to simulate the ax marks on the original. Then use the hoof cutter to slightly chip away at the bottom edge of the “new” piece to raise and match the rest of the beam. I suppose a small, round electric sander would also work! 💕
@unitedworld6618Ай бұрын
Suggestion - A lighter green on the walls which will make the ceiling look great as the current green takes away from the new ceiling and other reasons too. - Love your work !!
@bridgwllАй бұрын
That is not a priority.

Looks like that brick below the patch is about to fall!
@DoBeDiffАй бұрын
They do look like that since they are half floating, we will be adding bricks bellow. But they are actually tightly in there and don't move at all since the beam has pressure on them so as long as we fix bellow them they will be fine. This wall is a mess!

probably an adze rather than an axe. same techniques for wooden ship building. Is the overlapping live edge batten boards a traditional technique? I would instantly say tongue and grove for a wooden ceiling but love seeing the visual and artistic aspects from new ways of doing things.

@miitheweirdartist6794Ай бұрын
Never expose untreated wood to cement ..wood will rot quickly...not trying to be disrespectful.
@DoBeDiffАй бұрын
It's lime mortar and doesn't bother the wood. Lime allows the moisture to be exchanged and breathe so It doesn't rot all the beams in the house are built in the walls with lime mortar and have no problem. The house beams are also treated with Lime. Cement might have that problem but that's why Lime is the better alternative.

@lidijabirsa7768Ай бұрын
They will put insulation as it was before renovation, I guess
@firstname6826Ай бұрын
Previous videos will explain.
@DoBeDiffАй бұрын
There will be a membrane to prevent heat from rising and then there will be 40cm of insulation so I doubt that it would be cold. Having no insulation would be unbearable.
