I remember when you bought home all those double glazed windows from a ‘supersonic deal’ you got. They certainly are being useful! Great work I can’t wait to see it finished. Australia 🇦🇺

My lucky day! Just finished watching Davids channel about fixing the hay rake/tedder. Now this video on the continuing construction of the 2 story extension . Almost weather proof and a great added value to your farmstead. 👍👍👍🏆🙏🏻❤

I think you should end up making some small ventilation holes in the windows like the vinyl windows have. You'll have a lot of moisture in there in the winter. Anyway, great job.👍🙏

What you need is to fill that extension with potted flowers, seating and a coffee table and you got yourselves the best morning coffee spot with an amazing view .😊 It’s going to look lovely❤

I think you're got at least 6 months UV protection before it starts to degrade, it should say on the packaging somewhere, also the rain shouldn't affect it at all, that's what it's for after all. Looking good btw 👍🏻👍🏻

Something to consider is getting the upstairs windows ready to put in and then lay the upstairs floor so it will be easier to work with the windows and then do the outside siding.

Have you considered adding underfloor heating to your addition. There is really nothing to insulate it from the frozen ground.

All you do i just awesome! Congrats! Have a question: what are your plans about that one way balcony door? Replaced them or replaced just the handle? I'm very curious :))
@marieann54632 ай бұрын
I never saw a home or an extension of a home framed that way. Isn't it framed with plywood first then with fillers to prevents air coming in. Lastly add the sidding.
@marieann54632 ай бұрын
I meant to say after the plywood you add the insulation paper & then the siding put in the windows last.

Amazing work! Sorry to ask but did tou think at all about if you uave to replace the windows and door in the future how you will do it?
@bridgwll2 ай бұрын
Like any window or door.
@Merlin556112 ай бұрын
@@bridgwllthe reason I ask is that the windows and door were fixed from the inside of the framework and there is no way to remove beading to remove the window pane for example. Meaning you'd have to pull out the wall coverings to expose the frame and undo the screw. Not saying that's bad just I've never seen it done that way before and wondered if there was an alternative to what I've just said for replacing them should one break for example.

Hope your animals don't eat that foam filler stuff, don't let it sit there or blow into your pond and around. You may want to put a vent to the outside.
@minime73752 ай бұрын
That stuff is excellent nest building material for birds. Crows and magpies love it.
@Jennifer623892 ай бұрын
@@minime7375 Really?
@minime73752 ай бұрын
@@Jennifer62389 Yeah, it’s good insulation for their nests over winter, I’ve seen magpies and crows doing that, maybe other birds do too, idk. Either way I believe David and Despina are cleaning those offcuts and probably vacuuming the extension since it connects to the house.
