One of our two ducks passed away a few days ago suddenly with no warning. She was only 4 and evidently had a genetic issue. She was such a sweet girl! We ordered 2 girl, day-old ducklings that will be coming in the mail this month. We are very excited for their arrival! We got one Welsh Harlequin, and one White Duclair. I know that one will lay light blue eggs! We plan to name the Duclair 'Cotswold' and the Welsh 'Harlie'~ We also have one 'peupeu'---An opera-loving, Pilgrim goose named Mayflower who goes for 'walkies' on a harness and leash wearing fashionable 'goose boots'.🤣

I love raising chick's too. It was all I could do not to get a couple this spring. I live in town and I can only have 6. If I lived out in the country I would have SO many! I would like to have a rooster. Keep the hens in line & they can be so beautiful. I never found raising them hard work.

Do you know the breeds you have there? Our Black Australorpe lays deep brown eggs. We have two "Easter Eggers" and they lay lovely blue eggs. We have 3 babies coming in the mail soon---2 more Easter Eggers, and an Ameraucana 'Olive Egger' that will lay olive green eggs! (Our Buff Orpingtons lay light tan eggs, and our one Speckled Sussex lays off-white! You will have so much fun with your babies! We have raised all of ours as babies in a brooder in the house and have loved it! I know you will too. Not too much work---It's making wonderful memories!♥

I had Comets. Med golden color hens, friendly, my favorites because they are so sweet. lay med sized brown eggs- 19oz. Dozen. Good setting hens I also had New Hampshires, great free roaming yard birds, rooster is beautiful. My leghorns are mean they bite, my Rhode Island reds lay large brown eggs, and the Barred Rocks are also mean and lay lg brown eggs.

Sometimes, everyday it's different. Yesterday the old goose had some tantrum and started running around the house and the other two went in on their own. Usually he goes in first. It's still new to them but they are getting there, I think they love the new space.

Are you sure that you have a male goose? LOL! It seems by the shots you take of them trying to mate that they're really not having much luck! :) Maybe you're just cutting out the times when they are not sliding off of each other and such? Hej there, love your video! I think you your chickens aren't sexed, am I right? The black ones with a whitish dot on the head are probably future roosters. The blue layers are cream legbars?
