I don’t think most people have an appreciation for how intelligent birds truly are. We have an umbrella cockatoo and she is full of personality. We had to reinforce the locks on her cage doors as she would let herself out whenever she’d want by stick her foot through the bars and undoing both of the latches. She’s a handful but she’s such a great bird.

The sad things about bird as a pet is no matter how smart they still short lived. After having 2 owl who each lived only 18 months you'll feel of hesitant to get the third one cause every time a new birds come you can't help but compare it to the old one who you already have spent so much time training and now you have to train a new bird from the start. That's why i have great respect to bird keeper on the zoo that keep training a new birds every single 2-3 years.

@@hilihkintil6789 probably because most owl species have more longevity. i agree with him, wild or not..18 months is pretty crappy. i took in a roadkill pigeon with a crushed ribcage and snapped off foot. he lived almost three more years after getting crushed by a car. you must be doing something wrong if your birds of prey cant outlive their feed. even smaller owls live for 4-8 years. doesnt take somebody in peta to see patterns in shitty animal owners. maybe dont take wild animals and try to keep them as pets? that should make the decision to get a third one much easier. stop harming nature because youre bored. go read a book on owls or something.

I grew up with my birds, they do in fact have lovely personalities and even their own friends that they hang out with. We had two hens named Coco and Piyoko and when Coco passed away not only did Piyoko sit next to her body for upwards of 2 hours, but she also followed us to her grave to bury her. It was simultaneously the most heartbreaking and heartwarming I experienced as a 10yr old.

The worst thing for me is that my family had chickens alot of them, my father who was sick in cancer bought and raised them and just wanted their eggs and he was interested in different chickens, but later not to far from when he got them he died of the cancer or because the doctors gave him the wrong medication, don’t know for sure but that’s what my mother told me and I’m still mad about it. So our grandma who lives in our house (unfortunately. She’s not a good person) she later started taking “care” of the chickens, but as years passed more chickens disappeared, but what I later found out was that she had been killing them in the backyard of our house when I was at school and there would be blood and feathers on the concrete platform in the backyard and I was soo disgusted and she would also cook them in the pots in our kitchen, that “woman” disgusts me soo much, like your god damn son raised those and yet you keep killing them till there where no more and you keep complaining about that you miss your son but you’re getting rid of something that was his, like what. When I confronted her about it she said that the chickens where sick, but i can confirm that no they weren’t. I need some forget juice 🧃

What does that have to do with his statement? Why would you start offending the workers at a chicken factory for no reason? Chickens are stupid, that's a known fact. I lived on a farm with a bunch of animals, and saw it myself. Everything they do is based on instincts. A cat or dog is much more intelligent.
@Ruzzky_Bly4t3 жыл бұрын
@@akshaygoelcom Liking tasty food doesn't make people intelligent. Finding a way to produce chicken meat in large quantities, to make it more affordable, so poor people can also eat chicken, does make us intelligent. Exploiting other resources, being it animals, plants, minerals, or anything else, is how we survive. The ability to exploit those things already means that humans are extremely smart, considering how most humans are so vulnerable they would die from an encounter with a wolf.
@Ruzzky_Bly4t3 жыл бұрын
@@akshaygoelcom I am fully aware of the horrible impact that humanity has on Earth. Global warming, pollution, endangered species, deforestation, etc. However, I don't think that eating delicious food is a cause. You said: "And you are ready to cause suffering and environmental damage in the process just for few minutes of taste pleasure." I don't see how having a chicken farm, and killing those chickens who you grew just for that purpose, will cause environmental damage or suffering. Killing wild animals or destroying their habitat is really bad, but farm animals are bred with the intention to eat them or use them, so how's that a problem? Those animals wouldn't exist without humans breeding them anyways. You greatly overestimate the impact of eating farm animals on the environment. There are such things as mining fossil fuels, burning down forests for farm land, etc. Farming and killing animals has almost no impact compared to these processes.
@Ruzzky_Bly4t3 жыл бұрын
@@akshaygoelcom The deforestation happens to make farms, I know that. The main reason for deforestation in Brazil is to clear space for cattle. But what's your point? Let people starve to death instead of eating food? The population increases, so we need more land to make food. Nothing wrong with that.

Yes, and domesticated predators.... can rip your heads off in a snap of a few seconds if the wrong triggering suddenly happends. That is an experience several wild animals owners have experienced. Especially tigers/lions. Example one man came home to find that their "sweet" tiger that they had raised from kittenhood, had attacked his wife and started to eat his wife. (She was no match for the tiger, and she had forgotten to properly close the securitycagesystems while cleaning his big cage. And another story of a domesticated camel or something... the husband was out for an arend. But when he came back he saw that their camel, who was in heat, had toppled his wife. It had jumped his wife to try to mate... but the camel weight was too much when pushing the woman into the ground. So she suffocated while under high weight pressure. Soooo yeah.... domesticated non-domesticated breeds..... come with high risk of failure. Todays cats and dogs have gone through hundreds, if not many thousands generations of specific breedings to create breeds that are extra docile and special purpose. Todays domesticated dogs and cats are not wild animals that got domesticated. At the same time... the wild nature is soo strong in animals... that even a domesticated dog will form packs and hint and become vicious if let out into the wild again. Most of them would die, due to being just small pet dogs which have a lot of barks but no real power. And cats hint instincts are still very much intact.

My grandma used to raise her pigs like this, letting them roam around the house, giving them baths and basic pet stuff like that. After the pigs grew up she and grandpa would put them down and use most of them to make food that me and my siblings were always excited to eat since she put so much effort into cooking them (except the pig hock since I never had the guts to try it). My grandma always tried to give them a good life before putting them down, it breaks my heart to see some people just put thousands of pigs in metal cages until it's time to mass slaughter them, makes me so sad.

Matthew 11:15 KJV He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. Are you saved? Where will you go when you die? Heaven or hell? The Gospel, which means the Good News is the news that God Almighty, the Creator came in the flesh as Jesus Christ to take away the sin of the world. The one God is a trinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Son came and laid down his own life to save ours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for our redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him. Although God's creation was created perfect, having no death, sickness and disease, the creation became corrupted through Adam and Eve in them disobeying God. In this rebellion the creation became fallen through the curse of sin and mankind became separated from God. This world is fallen, but God offers reconciliation to him through his provision at the cross. Ultimately God will restore his creation to perfection when he returns but those that who reject his offer of redemption will remain condemned by their sins and go to hell. 1 Timothy 3:16 KJV And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: GOD WAS MANIFEST IN THE FLESH, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. John 1:1,14 KJV In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and THE WORD WAS GOD. [14] And THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH, and dwelt among us, 1 John 3:8 KJV He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Hebrews 2:14-16 KJV Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; [15] And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. @@EAGLEVISION666 yes, Clarabel, my 8yr old Black Cochin (look up a pic of the breed) has house privileges. I have thirteen hens, a coven if you will, who free range in the yard, i.e. 'yard birds' and when they get this old and are this sweet, they’re invited inside, but my wife has opinions about indoor poultry and a butt cover was the compromise. Honestly, cloth masks don’t work that great, but the cheap stiff carpenter's disposable dust masks contain the poo without smearing it in her feathers. Cheers ~P

Agreed. Birds are generally misunderstood, and are treated worse than mammals because most people are "surprised" birds are more intelligent than the mammals they keep. Tragic.

I hate how everyone compares animals that are affectionate to dogs. They aren’t acting like a dog they’re being themselves, a chicken in this case. All chickens and most animals have the capacity to be loved and love.
