Dobsonian telescope build part 2

I live in the desert southwest USA now, where some of the darkest skies around exist. I have never owned a telescope but I have a nice woodshop and some decent tools. I'm going to try and build one of these. Thank you for this wonderful video series.

The view through an 8 inch reflector telescope like this is amazing. I was going to build one but a commercial one came around at a good price and I really like my dob mount.

I live in Belgium. The light pollution here is the worst in the world. We can barely see a couple of stars as there is always this grey haze. Building a telescope would be a waste of time and energy.

It quite bad here too. I think I'd like to build a travel-scope that I can take to some better locations...
