big thanks to dr. block for allowing us to tour. loved seeing all the stuff i use to grow when i lived in south florida. the medinilla on the rock wall was awesome, we use to grow them right in the tops of big platyceriums. speaking of platyceriums the coronarium is outstanding! we use to grow dendrobium, oncidium and phalaenopsis orchids in a similar fashion covering the trunks of trees and they really are spectacular when they bloom. thanks summer for another great tour.

Actually that is how most orchids grow. It’s allied mounted and some people even mount it on trees

Thanks Michael! Plants such as that Medinilla that have naturalized to the environment as epiphytes need minimal care; and are some of my most satisfying specimens.
