This man was a living history book. -of jazz and American society in the twentieth century. An amazing man and an amazing interview.

@@peteratkinson922 Roy Willis was guitar player with Saratoga jazzmen for around 7 years at Corner House. Roy Williams was trombone player with the Alex Welsh band.

@@roywillis2750 I remember Roly Veitch guest guitarist/ vocalist; ? Heslop bass guitar; shadow foreign secretary/ pianist Dennis Healy and last but not least, Peter Gasgoigne, trumpeter sometimes standing/sitting leader of band. Venerable George Evans used to join in on tenor sax. 1984-5 were the years I came.

I saw him playing in river side park in New York 1969 with Richie Ray he was wearing an Indian wool coat.
