Doc's Diesel Oil Filter Quality Review

Update October 2023- Doc Diesel has added on their website that the rebranded PTC oil filter for the 6.7 cummins they sell you is rated at 25 microns without a percentage listed. Still no official test results for the oil filter available from them.

Thank you for posting this I was assuming because of the price point it was a inferior filter. But wanted to look at some reviews to see. My trucks motor is to expensive to rebuild because I went cheap on oil or filters I know not everyone will agree with me but when it comes to filters you get what you pay for and it will damage your motor over time by letting small particles past it to damage your motor over time

Premium filtration and fluids are the best things to do for a vehicle and the cheapest insurance knowing you have the best stuff in it.

FYI, oil filter opener makes opening filters much simplistic. Don’t need a vice. Been using one for going on 10 years to inspect all my used filters. Helps me to ID if I have engine issues such as sludge.

@@douglaspriest2770 Ya it’s disappointing they are made in Mexico, they are still top quality and I have never opened one that wasn’t perfect. I’m trying the Purolator boss next, I got some onsale.

I'm watching this in April 2024 and there still doesn't appear to be any micron ratings on their website. I looked up a filter for a 7.3 Powerstroke and there's a link you can click on to see the results of their "3rd party testing". When you do, it's just results for their fuel filter, not the oil filter, and nothing is for the 7.3 that I'm looking for.

If you have a FACTORY WARRANTY do not use anything but MOPAR. Generic Fuel filter Failure $9,000 INJECTORS replacement!

2021 Cummins 6.7 Turbo diesel. Advance discount Auto parts has Mopar oil filter for $16.49 well worth the piece of mind. I have used Docs Diesel Fuel filters with no problems. There is no reason Genuine Mopar fuel filters should cost what they do. I'm am wondering if the Docs Diesel fuel filters are quality or Chinese knock offs. $76 for both, or Genos garage says "genuine mopar fuel filters" $123.

I've been running docs diesel fuel filters and air filters ever since I changed the factory ones. They have been great no issues. I run my fuel filters to 15-20k and my air filters usually 30-40k

I use docs fuel filter on my 1999 7.3 powerstroke because it has a fass fuel system but on my 2019 ram 2500 6.7 i use genos garage they sell oem mopar kit for not too much more

@Steadierpark In general, mopar parts are the worst I've seen of any manufacturer. I've had to replace countless parts that didn't even last 50k on my truck. Mostly suspension parts.

Doc's Oil Filter has a micron rating of "3 Micron Fuel Filter with a 99.7% Efficiency Rating" and "Made with High Efficiency 3 Layer Media Paper"

They have updated their website since I made this video. It shows that the 6.7 cummins has a 25 micron rating with no percentage listed...... I run the fuel filters and have been happy with them. I'll never use those garbage rebranded PTC oil filters they sell.

Donaldson Blue label for the 5.9 and 6.7 is the best....10 microns Cat is better unfortunately Cat doesn’t have a oil filter for the 5.9 and 6.7

Yes the fuel filters and air filters are great quality. I would say as a comparison to equal with napa gold at a minimum if not platinum level.
