All the lore behind The Shining is so cool and insane. Love that you talked about this.

What I found fascinating about this particular Doc is how the actors can turn-on or turn-off their characters on a dime. Especially the scenes in the walk-in freezer. I can relate to the addiction to perfectionism. 08:57 is a great way to put it... it makes the movie feel like it's got anxiety. It's fun to hear you talk like this. So chill.

The realism and subtlety is powerful in this movie. I just have my own way and belief that I don’t think art is more important then ones health. But it’s make believe and must be done as close to reality as possible without endangering the physical or psyche of anyone. A good example is how real Jack came to looking and acting insane but he was fine during the shooting because he has that ability. If one can do that it’s much healthier.

Also look up the Taschen book on The Shining. The book itself is a piece of art.
