From the album Memories. I don't own it; just promoting Watson's music.

Saw Doc play this at the Last Chance Saloon in Poughkepsie NY back in the late 70's. Great show.

This album was dropped off at a radio station I worked at in the 70's as a promo for air play. The station didn't play it so I was able to keep the album. Love it! Helluva flattop picker!

Sometime in the 1980's, I heard a "modernized" version of this song: "Mama don't 'low no paranoia 'round here. Mama don't 'low no paranoia 'round here. I don't care what Mama don't 'low She's out to get me anyhow. Mama don't 'low no paranoia 'round here." "Mama don't 'low no kleptomania 'round here. Mama don't 'low no kleptomania 'round here. I don't care what Mama don't 'low, I stole this song from her anyhow. Mama don't 'low no kleptomania 'round here." "Mama don't 'low no vampirism 'round here. Mama don't 'low no vampirism 'round here. I don't care what Mama don't 'low I'll keep loving in vein anyhow. Mama don't 'low no vampirism 'round here." "Mama don't 'low no vampirism 'round here. Mama don't 'low no vampirism 'round here. I don't care what Mama don't 'low I'll keep right on vamping anyhow. Mama don't 'low no vampirism 'round here." "Mama don't 'low no claustrophobia 'round here. Mama don't 'low no claustrophobia 'round here. I don't care what Mama don't 'low, I don't believe in Santa Claus anyhow. Mama don't 'low no claustrophobia 'round here." There are about one hundred more verses to this version but I think this is enough verses for here.

Ole Doc was one of the best pickers I have ever seen ..I had an Aunt who hated music and this tune reminds me of her. Her younger sister and two of her brothers had a little three piece band years ago. One of her brothers played guitar, one played the fiddle and her younger sister played the piano. My Aunt was the oldest out of her seven siblings and she kinda ruled the roost around their house. One day the older Aunt got up and walked on her younger sisters keyboard, ruining her piano...My younger Aunt was mad as an old wet hen about her piano being ruined because she know there was no way she could get another one..

I woke up this morning with this song in my head and had to look it up. The version I remember, at the end of the song they all scrambled to put the instruments away as they spied mama top the hill on her way back home. I don't know where I heard it before but it sure stuck!

My grandfather followed a band called “Eli Konikoff’s Yankee Six” in Buffalo NY. When he passed I got the CD and the live version of this song is on there with him yelling and screaming in the crowd riling the players up. I always pictured him up in heaven jamming with the boys. Thank you for uploading this, cried the whole song. Cheers everyone
