I remember the negative comments against Trenitalia from the French and Spanish before the start of the Frecciarossa service in their respective countries, now I'm pleased that they are proud too!

I am looking forward to visit Madrid soon on my own, but I am also meeting up with a friend who stays there for a while. Your video definitely increased my excitement! Such a calm and positive vibe. New fan from Bangalore

yes; iryo is the best transport option between madrid and barcelona - better than RENFE AVE trains.

Great video :D. I do think Iryo its a pretty good aditon to the Spanish HS network their Frecciarosa are really nice to see and their service to. Its quite a contrast. Rigth now Iryo is slowy becoming more expensive tho and the Renfe Ave a bit more economical !!!. Both operators are completing each other better than expected! And making rail travel much easy :D

Not all the high-speed lines in Spain are built to standard gauge. The "Eje Atlántico" from A Coruña to Santiago de Compostela and Vigo, and the Estremadura line from Madrid to Caceres and Badajoz, are both built or being built in Iberian gauge.

uuh, ok; I need to try the iberian-gauge high-speed lines one day
@jfmezei
@jfmezei 3 ай бұрын
I was under the impression that true High Speed was all standard gauge, but that Talgo had developped a version of train that could do both high speed on standard and then switch to iberian and then go at conventioanl speeds. Building iberian gauge high speed would not allow proper open access which EU sort of mandates for high speed lines.
@ruipina5636
@ruipina5636 3 ай бұрын
@@jfmezei The recently deployed Talgo Avril trainsets were certified for >300 km/h in both gauges. The train is offered by Talgo and was bought by Renfe in two versions: A single standard gauge and a variable gauge version. During the certification process, one trainset of the variable gauge version reached 360 km/h over broad gauge and is now doing 300 km/h daily on the Iberian gauge section of the line between Madrid and Galicia.
@ruipina5636
@ruipina5636 3 ай бұрын
@@jfmezei There are exceptions: Finland uses Russian gauge and pretends to keep that way. Ireland uses their own gauge and, of course, there are no reasons to change. Portugal depends on Spain since all land connections are with them and nowadays and in short to medium term all are in Iberian gauge.

@@ruipina5636 Thanks. Wasn't aware the train could do hig speed on the board Iberian gauge. Had only see videos of it moving from high speed standard gauge onto conventional iberian gauge to continue journey on a stetch that didn't yet have standard gauge.

Iryo is not only Trenitalia, but rather the merge of AirNostrum (Spanish company) and TrenItalia

How much of the trip is done at 300kmh? Most of the way except for stops, or just a few sections that rech 300 and the rest at lower speeds? How long before arrival into Madrid does trai drop below 300 ?

i think the train reaches 300 km/h at about 50% of the madrid-barcelona high-speed railway line

I rode Iryo from Barcelona to Madrid last January. Some of the seats were next to a wall (like in your video), but I worked hard to find a 2- seater with a full window view. Returning to Barcelona I enjoyed my ride in OUIGO premium coach much better than IRYO. The ride was smoother and the double decker included a festive bistro car with seats.

How strict are they with luggage? I know they have required sizes but what if you are a little over the required suitcase size? I’ll be taking one from Madrid to Barcelona in August.

I have a recommendation for you... Because u r now making exceptionally informative, and original railway Spatial audio vlog, pls make videos about other asian nations...apart from india and china..... Maybe korea or japan or taiwan.... especially after pandemic. Those nation's railways (mainly high speed rail and japan's local trains..) suits ur type of content also... It also rake up ur viewships....😊😊😊

No background music or verbal commentary....but there is continuous loud background conversations among passengers that is annoying.

What are you on about??? it's just normal train background noise - maybe if the train itself was noisier you would have heard a little less of the passnegers in the recording, but IRL we want a nice quiet train where we can talk without raising our voices - and I didn't hear any raised voices during this trip....
