Oh Baba Ram Dass. This was his loving service to us all by trying to have a session with us right after his stroke. He just couldn't find words for awhile but kept going FOR US. he said he doesn't wish his stroke on anyone. But the grace from the stroke. Ive gone thru guided meditations with him even after his stroke and it was slowly. Yet deliberate, Real, and patient Love. I never skip this period of his teachings in time. He sure didn't.

@@explorer4435 I never got to meet him as I didn't make it to the last retreat before he surrendered his vessel. But I have every book hes ever written and all his lectures and meditations are online, my mom and dad taught me about him since I was little. My dad actually had acid made fresh from Timothy Leary and had the pleasure of meeting them both.

@@explorer4435 I just love this particular time period in his teachings (after his stroke) when alot of people didn't have the patience to listen to the slow speech, but I find just as much meaning in the pauses to find his words as much as the words themselves. His breathing in between. Its all just so powerful to me

Melissa Jackson I love what you’re saying. It’s definitely going to give me more insight into the pleasure of listening to him during this stage... my connection with him in past two months has been the most beautiful thing I’ve experienced in my life. Basically, I can’t stop crying when I start listening to him. Tears of gratitude & joy 😊

I find it easier to absorb his teachings since he had his stroke. Ironic? Perhaps but then again, maybe it's all in plan so to speak. I have pondered the same question (can we live here without suffering). To me, suffering is the catalyst to the path. Being human means we must first suffer before we seek. As for the rude comments...well, ego is a hard lesson to master but love conquers all.

That little girl's face at 3:45 reminds me of how it felt to be at my Grandmother's when I was little. The spirit can feel scary to a child. Where it's mostly quiet, maybe she was resonating in the void? When I come back to it in the silence now, I am taken back to that time as a child. I would stare at the picture of Jesus she had in her living room. I knew there was nothing to be afraid of, but it was there I recognized how quiet life really is. Couldn't wait to get back to the house and the t.v. at home though! But now, here I sit in a silent home. Full circle. ❤ Glad that little girl got that opportunity!

the soul attaches it's self like honey, it's very sticky, within each plain a soul will embody it's self to a sticky situation because that is what it wants, its funny how what we want is what we want to get away from, that is both suffering and love, so without acknowledging both the good and bad we wouldn't experience true reality, which I understand now we learn to relinquish suffering by surrendering our selves to that suffering, transmute it to love, this is no easy matter. Shambhavi Mudra is when by looking somewhat upward we vacate the senses, and are out of focus with the material world. The mother Life force flows thru us, completing us as her wisdom knows we need. This to me is what Ram dass looks like he is doing. Its a graceful technique in kriya yoga taught by Hariharananda paramhansa.

Bryan Jagdeesh May I ask you a serious question Slave? Why do you HATE Lord Krishna so much? 💔 All He ever does is LOVE you with His sweet, gentle, unconditional love and in return what do you do to Him? ♥ The Sanskrit word "KARMA" originates from the verbal root "kri", meaning work, action or deed. Every thought or ACTION produces an equal and opposite REACTION. When junk 'foods' are consumed, one's health is damaged to the degree that we eat such things. When we deliberately hurt another living creature, we are burdened with feelings of guilt, etcetera. Going by this logic what do you think would be the penalty for ignoring a member of the Holy Priesthood SLAVE? MUCH greater than you may realize, I'd posit. JUDGING the actions of others is a normal, natural and necessary function of every thinking person. However, one can only directly PASS judgement on those whom one has direct or indirect authority over. As a PRIEST, Slave, my duty is to judge the actions of others in this phenomenal sphere. If PROPHETS for God are not judges then who are? Now that you have MISJUDGED a superior, you too will be judged by one of your subordinates. As you have sown, so you are ALREADY reaping. You cannot say that you were never warned Slave! "Instant Karma's gonna get you, Gonna knock you right on the head. You better get yourself together, Pretty soon you're gonna be dead." 😈 John Ono Lennon If the EGO of a single person is bigger than the entire universe then how do you explain how 7,000,000,000-odd persons manage to reside together on this one tiny little planet relatively conflict-free? It's a true miracle tama SLAVE?

I understand that many of you are afraid by what you say.but It's all about opposites, To know love is to know suffering and vice versa. it's all about experience, To know the true feeling or emotion in all aspects and to understand the fullness of the experience to you as an individual. And yes personal suffering will bring you closer to the one, I don't know why this is but it is, maybe it's some form of disconnection from the basic instints that helps to connect to the soul, you're true self.

.A famous saint Kabir said: " Jab mae tha tab hari nahi, ab hari hai mae nahi.sab andiyara mit gya jab deepak dekha mahi....." means when i was human i did not praised god ,i forgot him...but when i am not there the beautiful chance to praise him has gone ,now i have to be born again to get the chance until i mix in his light.And you know what remains then when we miss a chance: wishes,desires,selfishness,ego so we remain attached to this plane..last but not the least suffering!Hey Ram Das Lv U!

another dude put it more succinctly, quite some time ago. To stop suffering requires the cessation of ignorance; volitional formations; consciousness; mentality-materiality; the sixfold base; contact; feeling; craving; clinging; becoming; & birth. "Through the cessation of birth, cease ageing and death, sorrow, lamentation, pain grief, and despair. Thus does this whole mass of suffering cease."

What makes you think we don't have continuity?
@rangedkid
@rangedkid 12 жыл бұрын
We simply don't. There's a beginning to your life and an end. The matter that you are composed of will have continuity but your conscious awareness (that exists due to particular arrangement of atoms that have been possible to manifest in such a form through millions of years of evolution) will be put to an eternal sleep. Just like how you had no thoughts before birth, you will have no thoughts after death. It's one of the obvious truths that most people have a hard time accepting it.

I read his book, "Be Here Now".I am more familar with him than you would ever know. Honor, righteousness & 'the work' need to be reaffirmed daily. We can't celebrate our accomplishment from the past, if we are no longer walking that path. I've heard interviews since he's had the stroke, this is a persona, he talks normally when he chooses to. Eckhard Tolle's book the Power of Now is excellent distillation of buddhism. They laugh like posers! Ram Dass is everything wrong with spiritual teachers.
