Discuss the relevance of your answer to what is happening in our society today (5 sentences). -Important decisions should be thought through and processed. Because people nowadays are leaving it all up to fate. They acted and decided hastily and regretted it afterwards. They don't plan on doing something, they just continue what they want to do even when they're struggling. like in choosing course people nowadays, many people just chose their courses in life because people influenced them, and others are just because they don't wanna be left out. And when it comes to relationship people nowadays, they didn't not hesitate to have family even though they are young. Unlike in the past people there are well-mannered and strategic when it comes to relationships. When a boy wants to court a girl, the boy would face different challenges, and do whatever it takes just to pursue her.

Calvez, H. Reading and Written Composition Question: What is the lesson or value that can be taken from the reference then relate (1sentence). Discuss the relevance of your answer to what is happening in our society today (5 sentences). The reference's lesson or value is to always consider the consequences and create plans before making decisions and before ending up regretting and ruining your life. If you are aware of your past mistakes, you shouldn't consent to a situation of this nature occurring again in your family. People should first keep working or try to make a better living if they know that this isn't enough for them to make themselves achieve something before starting a large family. This is illustrated in the story when Dodong is "looking at his life with the number of children, the problems that came with creating a big family at a young age." Consider your options carefully before making a decision like marriage, especially if you're still a young person. Marriage can wait; there is no need to rush because it is a lifetime commitment. If you've already made the mistake of getting married at a young age and make your life ugly, you should be aware that it's best to avoid doing it again by starting it with your own child. However, many people today are getting married at a young age since their parents are also in favor of it. That's why our population is increasing and may lead us to poverty.

Oro, Marc Justine T. Reading and Written WF (4:00-5:30) 1. In general, the footnote to the youth story serves as a reminder and a lesson that you shouldn't just decide to marry someone because doing so can have many negative effects. 2. Footnote to Youth is a depiction of the problems caused by impulsive young people's decisions that later involve hardships and sacrifice when they mature and only think about their own self-satisfaction, forgetting the long-run consequences of their choices 3. When Dodong received counsel from them, he would frequently reject it, since many of them were his parents. A coming-of-age tale illustrates how youth's impatience and passion frequently cause them to lose the knowledge and experience of older people.

Clavel, HM Reading and Writing Composition The moral of the story is that we should think wisely in every actions that we make. The story taught me to always think about the future before getting married, which is a valuable lesson I respect. Taking the decision to get married and have children comes with a lot of responsibility and difficulty. Because you won't be able to think for yourself any longer, you should put your partner's and children needs first. In connection to that, lack of health, lack of care, a lack of resources, a lack of financial stability, a lack of education are all relevant to what is happening in society due of young ages. This consequence of getting married young is thought to occur. That's why we should put priority on the things that matters the most. We should prioritise our education, our family and of course ourselves. Because I believe love takes time.

Magdaleno, R Reading & Written Composition Question: What is the lesson or value that can be taken from the reference then relate (1sentence). Discuss the relevance of your answer to what is happening in our society today (5 sentences). Answer: The lesson i learned is there is no reason to rush when making decisions because every decision has consequences behind it. Our society today will forever have its good and bad sides of it. Majority of it is caused from their environment due to the way people were raised, how they were raised and where they were raised at. Not everyone has the luxury of being taught what’s right and what’s wrong. The people not having that knowledge ends up growing up to be a bad person and they sometimes may find the right route later in life but, not every time. When making a decision you feel is right for you, there will be a consequence behind it. It may be good or bad but just prepare yourself for whatever comes after.

Federis, Ma. Criselda D. ENGL A01-R | Monday, 07:30 AM - 10:30 AM 1. Based on the reference video, how does the short story Footnote to Youth explore the consequences of early marriage and youthful decisions? - Dodong’s impulsive decision to marry at 17 leads him to a life full of hardships and responsibilities that he is not yet ready to handle. 2. According to the discussion in the reference video, what key themes in Footnote to Youth reflect the struggles between youthful impulsiveness and adult responsibilities? - Early marriage brings great responsibilities, and Dodong struggles with the desire to enjoy his youth while carrying the burdens of adult life after starting a family at such a young age. 3. Referring to the video, how does Footnote to Youth portray the impact of generational advice, and why do characters like Dodong struggle to heed it? - The story shows the repeated cycle of impulsive decisions regarding early marriage, from Dodong's father to Dodong's son, Blas. Some say it’s due to youthful arrogance or rebellion, but I believe it’s because Dodong lacked enough warnings and advice from his parents. It wasn’t until he asked for permission to marry Teang that he received advice. I also think that poverty and limited education pushed him to follow through with his decision. Both Dodong and Teang were ignorant of the responsibilities of being parents, and had they understood this better, they might have chosen a different path, possibly leading to a better life like Lucio’s.

Discuss the relevance of your answer to what is happening in our society today (5 sentences). In terms of making a decision, one must be conscientious, especially regarding marriage, love, and commitment, since it has to be planned thoroughly. Our society thinks of marriage as something not to be taken seriously; nowadays, people think of marriage as something to be taken lightly. Marriage is a lifelong commitment together with family planning; teenagers must not be in a rush to such things as the story footnote to youth means that we must enjoy our youthful years because the reality of adulthood is at large and challenging. Marriage is not something we can go into and leave whenever we want to because it is a sacred form of binding with our loved ones and devoting ourselves to them and the family we will build. Patience-we have to be patient and be ready for responsibilities because getting married is a huge step toward another chapter in life. Teenagers must learn the consequences of such actions; we must learn how to wait and sort our priorities; everything takes time, and let nature takes its course.

Question: Discuss the relevance of your answer to what's happening to our society nowadays. Nowadays, people are immersed in social media. As people say, the world is shrinking. The major setback here is that most people believe what they say online despite very little of the information on the internet is factual information. On that note, people often make decisions, even major ones based on what they see online without even thinking twice if what they see is true or not. These choices then cause major disarray in our society because they regretfully prove to be disadvantageous for every single one of us along the road.

Serdeña, John Philippine Literature Love is like a persimmon; picking it too soon will make it taste like dark roast coffee with the sour like taste of a Fini roller. The story tells how bitter life would be in an early marriage. It shows the importance of being patient, not rushing things out, and being mindful when making life decisions. Loving someone is not always about choosing and pursuing that person; sometimes, it’s about choosing what’s good for them. Nowadays, the youth are silly when it comes to love. They are driven by their emotions, crave more love, and thus end up getting married too soon, making them regretful and miserable. Marriage, at all times, is not a Disney story where everyone always ends up living happily ever after-sometimes it is a story like the footnote to youth that will teach us to be patient and wait until everything is completely ripe, because to taste the sweetness of a fully ripe fruit is worth waiting for.

Many aspects of society have been experiencing their downfall because of negligence and poor decision-making. For the past years, our country and its fellow citizens have been suffering from the bad decisions made by the administration. Bernades, J Philippine Literature Although the story was written many years ago, its moral lesson is still relevant to today's youth. The topic of early marriage and having numerous children was covered in the narrative. In fact, this lesson needs to speak out against one of society's problems: early marriage is not simple, and the time will come for this kind of situation. As we all know, when it comes to marriage, this is not an easy decision to make. As I've already mentioned, if you're going to live, you should be financially stable and confident that the time is right for you to start a family. This is the major problem that our society is currently dealing with. The goal of the story fits the solution to this problem, but I also believe that the parents and the environment have a significant impact on why this problem is occurring. So I just wanted to say that early marriage is a problem that needs to be solved and that everyone reading this needs to develop emotionally and have a stable life before they enter this stage of life.

Berba, A. Philippine Literature In today’s generation, it seems like everyone’s always in a rush, constantly chasing after something, making decisions we’ve never really thought through, and entering into something we aren’t really ready for. The story is a brief reminder to us, especially the youth, of what consequences and responsibilities our decisions entail, as well as the reality and harshness of life. Teenagers nowadays tend to rush into relationships, driven by their young love and strong emotions, thus getting pregnant and tying the knot early. A rushed relationship doesn't start on the best foundation. Life is not a race, it’s a journey, one that needs to be enjoyed. After all, great things take time. Amidst this busy and chaotic world, we should learn how to slow down to go further. I just hope that, in the end, whatever decisions we’ve made and whatever path we’ve chosen, we can make peace with what we’ve become.

Rodriguez, Alliah Claire M. Philippine Literature Based on the story the value or lesson that I get is that, rushing something in life without thinking it again and again can result to something unexpected. We should always remember that if we choose, there is no rewind button to undone it that is why people especially our parents would alwyas say "choose wisely not carelessly". Second lesson which is history repeats itself. Hence, this can be avoided with the predecessor's lessons about life. Truth is, history won't even be repated twice or thrice if the continuation of a problem or misunderstanding would be cutted immediately at the time being. Moreover, the story is still relevant even until today since early marriage is one of the major problems that the society is facing. Teens may say that they can handle anything about marriage or building a family in early age, but that is not true. Marriage is not a hot rice that if you get burnt you can just spit it out, it is a sacred and legal bond that cannot be severed if you just wanted to stop it.

Answer: The lesson I got is that if I'm in the position of Dodong and Teang to get married at an early age, they also have regrets, but they cannot come back from what decision they made. They already have family to continue what they have done, and the value that I got in the story is to value your teenage life and enjoy the life when you are young because it's not easy to be an adult and build your own family and have a lot of responsibility. 2. What part would you consider as the climax of the story and discuss the reason why ? Answer The climax for me is when Blas asks for permission from his parents to get married also. Dodong remembers also when he was asking for permission from his parents, and it was repeating to his son Blas. And his reaction is the same as his parents when he's asking about marriage. Now he realizes what his parents felt when it happened, the decision he made.

Making decisions is not something we can do at will; we must carefully consider our choices since once we make a decision, it cannot be changed when it has been initiated. This lesson is important or of relevance for young adults to learn since, in today's society, many people prefer to rush through tasks and take short cuts to their goals, which lead to failure. Not just in romantic relationships, but also in forming friendships, placing too much faith in others, exposing information carelessly, picking a college major, and coming to a significant decision that would have the harshest possible effects on their lives. We all know that some people did not consider the consequences that could affect not only themselves but also those around them. As with every decision we make, we are cautious and mindful of the action we will take. Like our communication, which is a vital tool for connecting and understanding each other, we must be cautious and conscious of every word we speak to another person. We can still see people misunderstood each other by using just one wrong word or phrase, resulting in a misunderstanding that can lead to the end of a relationship or even a fight. As an example, consider the current conflict between Ukraine and Russia, which resulted from misunderstandings between the two countries, resulting in the war that we see today. This is why we must always be cautious and mindful of every word we deliver to another person.

ANSWER: The lesson i got from this is to develop the ability to have patience and self control and ive learned from my parents and other elderly people ive talked to over the years these skills are very difficult to master especially at a young age. However it is possible to develop these traits at a younger age and it is even more possible to work towards that goal, this applies to marriage and building a family. It is certain that during this period of time in someones life that he or she will make mistakes, mistakes that a younger person cannot bare. In our society today especially my generation. Relationships have been fantasized and romantisized to show only the good parts the happy parts excluding the ups and downs that occur in a normal relationship so they rush in to it maybe even getting pregnant at a young age and when they are faced with the reality of their situation they are not ready for, and the responsibility they end up colapsing from it sooner or later which contributes to alot of failed marriages i hope this story reaches more people and teach them the right way.

TARLIT, M. READING AND WRITTEN COMPOSITION Question: What is the lesson or value that can be taken from the reference then relate (1sentence). Discuss the relevance of your answer to what is happening in our society today (5 sentences). Answer: The moral of the story is that marriage must always be managed and taken more seriously. In our today’s society, marriage is not taken seriously because people assume it to be mainly about their own ego and personal satisfaction. Marriage is a life-long commitment, but most young people simply see marriage as a contract or a social program, that they may enter and exit whenever they like. Others think they're ready to commit for the responsibilities, but we should always dig and think deeper and ask ourselves if it's worth the risk. Because once we commit we cannot turn back. That's why before getting married make sure you're ready for the right reasons, keep an open mind and be flexible. Be patient because right time will come.

The story highlights a problem in Philippine society - the practice of marrying too young and suffering through the rest of the marriage. 2. What part would you consider as the climax of the story and discuss the reason why? - For me, the climax of the story comes with the birth of Dodong’s first child named Blas. Dodong shows a conflict with this, the thought that he becam e a father and a young age and feels shame in front of his parents, perhaps for insisting on marrying in the first place.

Estabillo, J. Philippine Literature In the story, I picked up two moral lessons. First is, we must all have to think twice about the decisions that we are making, especially if it will be a big leap because it will probably affect not only your life but your future as well. Your status in life should not be a hindrance for you to think critically about the decisions that you will make about your life. Just like what my former adviser used to say "life is a matter of choice" the situation that you have today happened because of the decisions that you made yesterday. Second is, a mistake cannot be corrected by another mistake. For parents, if you experienced a challenging life because of bad decisions that you made before, don't let it happen your children. Break the curse and teach them about what you have learned in life, because out of all the people that they can rely on regarding life decisions, it must be you who should be their light and guide through their journey in life.

Dela Cruz,A Reading and Written Composition The narrative taught me to be mindful of oneself before acting, which is the main lesson I took away. In today's world, many people, particularly youths, took risks. The sociocultural value "bahala na" is used by Filipinos and can either reflect a fatalistic outlook on life or a resolute one in a difficult scenario where things are unsafe and unknown. For instance, the majority of teenage pregnancies occur as a result of one or both parties being intoxicated when they decide to have a romantic intercourse without even thinking about the safetyness while doing it. Without realizing it, the Filipinos adopted the concept of "bahala na" to keep doing what they want despite the possibility that a female could become pregnant and begin a teenage pregnancy. Because self-awareness entails identifying your emotions, figuring out how to deal with those emotions, and understanding how any following actions affect those around you, we should all be aware of our own emotions.

Bunao, R. Reading and Written Composition Question: What is the lesson or value that can be taken from the reference then relate (1sentence). Discuss the relevance of your answer to what is happening in our society today (5 sentences). Answer: The lesson that I learned in the story is to be patient in making decisions and be courageous to own up the responsibility of your choices. Regardless of their ethnicity and religions, cases of child marriages happens not only in small communities but also in affluent countries. The worse part is, not like Dodong and Taeyang's marriage, in child marriages most of the brides/grooms involved can not make the decision of who and when they can marry. For various reasons, mainly poverty, these child brides/grooms are forced to take on a responsibility that their young selves could not handle. Rather than being patient to make their own choices about their marriage, like a normal marriage does, they need to be patient to reach the mental maturity needed for them to manage their new family. And after reaching that state of mind, the choice of breaking off the marriage takes all the courage that they have as they need to weigh the reponsibility along with the changes that their choice will bring.

There are consequences for every action that we make, so we have to carefully plan things out and consider some things. This lesson applies in our society today. There are people, especially the young ones, who are being indecisive. In the story, Dodong and Blas chose to be married at a young age without thinking about how difficult it is to create a family. It is almost the same as the teenage pregnancy issue in our society. Some teenagers choose pleasure while paying no attention to their age, their parents' opinion and consent, and their social and financial status.

The story has taught me to be patient and behave responsibly before making important decisions. Always consider the effects before making a choice to help you prevent regret and self-blame. Discuss the relevance of your answer to what is happening in our society today (5 sentences). Given the rise in teen pregnancies in our nation over time, it is extremely pertinent to our culture today. If we do not have a suitable family planning and being stable on life first, we are locked of knowledge about family planning and how life works in the future. Without family planning, the future and goals may be shattered. Informing people to plan their families before starting a family can help them avoid making bad judgments in life and the consequent rise in poverty in our society. Galito, Kyle Philippine Literature The moral lesson I can grasp from the story is that, in life, we should consider a lot of things before making a decision. We should not just be impulsive and indecisive about something because we are overwhelmed about it-emotion cloud judgment, and with that, we tend to make bad choices which will results to failures thoroughly. With regards to early marriage, it is not a good thing even though it's prevalence is rising in the current generation. A lot of teens wants to be married but are not prepared for the consequences they should face. Not because you love someone you should marry that person hastily. Marriage is a lifetime commitment and you must be consistent in life to enjoy the marriage. If you are not fit nor stable in life, don't indulge yourself that marriage is a good thing for you and your partner.

AGUILAR, GERALD JOHN B. Reading and Written Composition Answer: The key word and the most important lesson of the topic that I've read and watched from the lesson a while ago is that marriage is not a joke for all of us people, we should take this serious and well managed because if we grant this at a young age we will just suffer from hunger and lack of wealthness. Lastly, we should enjoy our life as a kid and teen because starting a family is indeed needed to have well presented planned and wise decisions. Stable your priorities, make yourself stable and lastly, always remind yourself that marriage is created by love; not just because you want it or your forced to do it.

De Vera, Gabrielle Philippine Literature We should all consider our judgments carefully before acting, as the story's lesson makes clear. particularly when we're starting a family or getting married. Even just making ends meet, much less supporting a family, is challenging. The story also includes a description of the circle of life. If the right advice isn't offered, the past will almost certainly effect both your present and your future, which means it will only serve to repeat itself. The decisions you will make regarding your life should not be influenced by your current situation in life, Early marriage is one of the primary issues that the society is currently dealing with, hence the narrative is still relevant today. Although the youth could assert that they are capable of handling any situation including marriage or starting a family at a young age, this is untrue.

Rapid recurrent pregnancy can provide additional health concerns for both the mother and the child, which is a concern for young mothers in specific situations. Catada,R Jr. Reading and Written Compostion Question: What is the lesson or value that can be taken from the reference then relate. Answer: Marriage is not like a food that you can spit out if you don't want the taste of it. In our society, people tend to look at marriage as in fairytales, where there is always a happy ending. Some couples become blind when they are in love, especially young couples. They tend to have an idealistic view of marriage, setting aside the consequences that it comes with. This view results in disappointment and dismay from both parties who have been engaged in marriage. There are more than a hundred reasons not to get into marriage. Among them is financial capability. It should be the first question that couples answer when they decide to get married. Yes, we can say that there are couples that live happily without money, but let's be realistic and honest that love alone is not enough to sustain a happy marriage. I'm hoping that this story will reach out and enlighten couples about marriage and the consequences that come with it when it is not planned thoroughly.

CRUZ, Marriane Esther N. ENGL-AO1R Reading and Written Composition (WF- 5:30-7:30pm) 1. Based on the reference video, how does the short story Footnote to Youth explore the consequences of early marriage and youthful decisions? - In Footnote to Youth, early marriage and youthful decisions are explored through Dodong’s impulsive choice to marry young, which leads to struggles with adult responsibilities and a growing sense of regret. Dodong's experience shows how early decisions can have long-term, difficult consequences. 2. According to the discussion in the reference video, what key themes in Footnote to Youth reflect the struggles between youthful impulsiveness and adult responsibilities? - The story’s main themes focus on the conflict between the impulsiveness of youth and the responsibilities of adulthood. Dodong’s romantic view of love and freedom clashes with the tough realities of being a parent and dealing with financial problems. These youthful choices, often made without thinking deeply, bring challenges that require maturity and strength to handle. 3. Referring to the video, how does Footnote to Youth portray the impact of generational advice, and why do characters like Dodong struggle to heed it? - Footnote to Youth shows how hard it is for young people to accept advice from older generations through Dodong’s decision to ignore his father’s warnings, thinking his situation will be different. Like many young people, Dodong doesn’t fully appreciate his elders' wisdom until he faces the consequences of his choices. This gap between youthful confidence and the experience of older generations shows how impulsive decisions are often repeated over time.

Agbisit, AM. Reading and Written Composition The moral you can get from the video is that marriage is important and should be treated with respect and considered as such because marriage is full of responsibilities. Let's relate to this today, a lot of teenagers get married or being pregnant at an early age. Some youth always go with their feelings without uncertainty they will do anything to get what they want and then repent in the end. Being parents at a young age is something that many people should consider because, with everything that's been happening in our society right now, there is a pandemic, inflation, and so on. Magarang, N. Simply because neither an auspicious future nor a promising fate is fathomable. It is inevitable to go through adversities in every phase of life as it also gives us a life lesson. Thus, when things get rough, we'll soon realize the hapless outcomes of our decisions, which we eagerly chose over our future. And as we take a glimpse into reality, we can perceptibly see how desire ruins someone else’s life, especially in the form of innocent youths. They often have the misapprehension that getting married sooner will be the optimum way of their lives, not realizing that it will result in the biggest mistake that they will ever make.

Pelicano, Quenie Joy C. Philippine Literature TTH 5:30PM-7:00PM 1.What lesson or value can be taken away from the story, is the story still relevant today? • In my view, Footnote to Youth teaches the importance of understanding the consequences of our decisions, especially when we’re young. Dodong's story shows how rushing into major life choices, like marriage and having children, without fully considering what they entail can lead to regret and a sense of being trapped. This is still relevant today because many young people often make quick decisions in the heat of the moment whether it’s relationships, careers, or other important life choices without considering the long-term impact. The story reminds us to think more carefully and responsibly, taking time to understand the full scope of our choices before diving in. 2. What part would you consider as the climax of the story and discuss the reason why? For me, the climax of the story happens when Dodong realizes how overwhelming his responsibilities are. He’s had children, gotten married, and become part of a cycle he doesn’t know how to break. That moment when he wishes he could go back to his younger, carefree days marks the high point of the story because it’s when all the earlier, impulsive decisions hit him full force. It's the turning point where Dodong sees his life not as something to look forward to, but as something he feels trapped by this moment is powerful because it slows how life can sometimes unfold in unexpected, irreversible ways, especially when decisions are made too hastily.

Labrador, John Rudolf A. Philippine Literature The lesson of the story is to take things easy. Do not rush in making decisions such as marriage. Footnote to Youth shows us the real life scenario where the youth are rushing things without thinking of the consequences. Marriage and building a family is a full-time commitment. It is not just a mere thing that we can leave if we don't feel or like anymore, but the complete opposite. So we should plan thoroughly before making huge and major decisions such as marriage and building a family, because if we just indulge to our emotions and did not plan, not only will we suffer but everybody involved will suffer the same thing.

Based on the reference video, how does the short story Footnote to Youth explore the consequences of early marriage and youthful decisions? - In "Footnote to Youth," Jose Garcia Villa explores the consequences of early marriage and youthful decisions through the experiences of Dodong, who impulsively marries due to a romanticized view of love. As he confronts the harsh realities of adult responsibilities, the story highlights the harsh contrast between his youthful dreams and the burdens he faces, illustrating how impulsive choices can lead to regret and dissatisfaction. Dodong grapples with feelings of entrapment, emphasizing that decisions made without full understanding can have lasting effects. 2. According to the discussion in the reference video, what key themes in Footnote to Youth reflect the struggles between youthful impulsiveness and adult responsibilities? - In "Footnote to Youth," key themes reflect the struggles between youthful impulsiveness and adult responsibilities, particularly through the character of Dodong. The story contrasts his impulsive decision to marry young with the heavy burdens of adult life, illustrating how romanticized views can lead to unpreparedness for reality. Dodong’s journey is marked by disillusionment as he faces financial strain and family responsibilities, highlighting the gap between youthful dreams and harsh truths. The narrative also emphasizes regret, highlighting the consequences of decisions made without foresight, while sugugesting a cyclical nature of life where such struggles are often repeated across generations as what happened with his son, Blas and his Wife, Tona. 3. Referring to the video, how does Footnote to Youth portray the impact of generational advice, and why do characters like Dodong struggle to heed it? - In "Footnote to Youth," generational advice greatly impacts characters like Dodong, who struggles to listen to it because he wants independence and has romantic ideas. He sees adulthood and marriage as freeing, ignoring his father's warnings about the responsibilities they entail. This disconnect happens because Dodong views his father's advice as outdated, reflecting a common belief among young people that they can handle life differently. Ultimately, the story reveals how young people often repeat their elders' mistakes, highlighting the difficulty of understanding and applying generational advice in the face of youthful dreams.
