I hope not, we saw what Buddy's contract did to the club. We lost more than one or two players to other clubs, because there was too much $ allocated to one player. It's a catch 22 situation, the swans have quite a few players which other clubs would be very happy to have on their lists. A big hungry family always has trouble dividing up granma's apple merangue pie, let alone the whipped cream. Cup of tea , scones , with whipped cream and jam for all . Tough assignment for many clubs, not just the pies or swans.

Chad Warner isn't interested in leaving the Swans! Why would he, the chance of being in what could become the team of the century is far more alluring than going to a club that is really not quite there yet. The Swans are still very young and are still improving, it's exciting!

The Chad is at the most respected Club in the AFL which is on the cusp of a dynasty in its 150th year. Why would he go to an average Club like Freo, with little history and no success to date. He should take Dusty as his role model, seeing as he’s the new Dusty. Stay loyal to the Club and everything else will follow. Success trumps extra $$$ when all is said and done …

@@markuswilmes3694 I think u should offer some examples of that statement. I can pinpoint a couple of handy types who were targeted when the dud was at the club. Eg Nankervis, Mitchell, Hewitt, Rowan, Cameron. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, albeit useless. However, it's part of the gig. Swans have a zero tolerance to persian rugs from what I've seen . So that explains Mumford & Cameron , Rowan wanted home ground. Forgiveness and money talks are part & parcel of the backroom conversation in managing , virtually anything. An AFL Club is no different. Grundy etc were not poached, last year. I'm having trouble thinking of whom you are referring too.

Agreed, but $400k is on the low side... Id start him on $800 with provision with $50K increment increases over the next six years. Lets face it, you need a bunch of solid footballers who do all the 1 percenters, but to win a flag, you need a few of those X Factor type guys who can turn a game and win it of their own boot..
