Funny thing is that several hermits started to release their TCG videos that are close or over 1h long. Somehow I trust that Doc's videos will be much more concise and still contain 99% of the relevant content. Or he just destroys everyone that fast :D

Loving all of the videos Doc! I wanted to pitch an idea and wasn't sure if the hermits had seen it but I got a "not so original" idea after you created your arena in the perimeter! Each hermit creates their own "arena" or "gym" and whenever you get a win from that hermit in their arena you get a "gym" badge that the hermits could customize to fit their theme? So like a GOAT badge for you and that could be a fun little challenge for all of the hermits to try and beat each other.

Wow, Ren could definitely benefit from taking a bit of Doc’s strat having a lot of cards that can target AFK hermits, Doc had 3 hermits on red at the end there but they were untouchable! Incredible game!

In his most recent stream, he has a lot of bows in his deck and status effect cards. Afk hermits are very much not going to be doing well.

So glad the hermits are loving the game bedf out so much work into, and it's just so fun seeing hermits just hang out together and chit chat :) that human connection is so amazing. My favorite part of hermitcraft in general is just friends hanging out and having fun together :)

I like that from all the hype and excitement on the server of the TCG trading and collecting the cards, playing the game itself becomes more like a round of golf or a chess match with such concentration and the excitement is more of an inward feeling :D

Was fun to watch, there were some errors in the match tho. The biggest was Flee (from Ren's turn) should have inactivated Doc's card that he attacked with and ultimately won. Also Doc you used your 2 reward cards as discards earlier in the match, which I am sure wasn't an intended option lol.

i would have played that a little differently at the end i would have used the tnt with the common TFC and attacked with him let ren knock him out next turn or switch hermits then attacked with rare TFC

I think the strat with hypno would be to wait until they have a bunch of hermits in red, then if you can, sac a hermit to switch into him and have him take out many hermits one per move.

I assume that's the plan, Doc was just too tired to think probably when he used the chorus fruit to switch him in, was a bit pointless :D

@@Lightning_Lance to be fair, doc has a habit of getting really hyped and putting in ungodly hours on things. I wouldn't be surprised if he's been sacrificing sleep to play the TCG and shuffle his cards around. Not surprising the guy who knows just about everything about Minecraft, not the least of which how to train the dragon, is an obsessive person lmao 🤣. I do hope they're all ok tho, hermits be cranking out mad content, beef really boosted the crap outta the server.

@@nifegun Sunday morning I woke up really early and Joe and Jev were both streaming , to my surprise Doc was playing... I'm in his timezone, it was 7.30 am . Apparently the man got up at 6.30 so he could play the Americans and that way add more cards to his deck before the other Europeans . Totally normal and sane thing to do , not obsessed at all 😅

@@didi81_ I mean it's what we've learned to expect from doc. Dude built a world eater... And successfully ate the world... In survival Minecraft. During that time as well as earlier in the season other hermits had asked him if he'd slept. Dude is absolutely mad. But hey I get it, I've done some fairly large scale redstone stuff, not world eater level, but I rebuilt a simplified version of pix copper ager... You can even watch it if you want... Or just jump to half way to see a system of 20 flying machines going around cause that's the fun part haha.

you can have a max of 9 healing items, maybe a bdubs or keralis,, but this can't work in the current game,, right now carry cards are stress, mumbo and wels

Doc, I don't think you should have used hypno so soon! I think you want to save him as long as you can, so that when he comes out there are multiple AFKs in striking range!

​ @Thomas Croker it costs item cards every time you attack an AFK hermit with Hypno, doing it 3 times is very expensive. Also if he wanted Hypno out he should have just switched to him when his first hermit was defeated. The chorus fruit is great to use after the other player switches to save a hermit. You make them take the momentum loss and then still get their hermit anyway with Hypno. That would be the play.

There needs to be an anvil card that does damage to the hermit based on where it is on the board. So the lower it is the more damage they take.

Cool Combo I noticed was the 40 From Banged up TFC + 60 from TNT leaving him at 40 then when he switches to finish him with the Bow

Awesome Game! Lucky Ren didn't have as many bows as you did :P You absorbed a lot of damage, but I think it was nice that you kept switching your almost dead player to afk. You got less attacks, but he wasn't really able to knockout any of your hermits :)

Doc's deck is really buffy. Even though he played a lot wrong with that hypno changing early, and losing turns of TFC because he could've powered him up earlier, it still powered through Ren because of everyone being so chunky with 300-270 health. Those bows and TNT are really good also.

if the game ended up going longer not powering up TFC would have probably worked out well for him because he drew the rare TFC and could power him up instead. Maybe he was hoping to draw the better TFC all along? It would have only cost him 50 damage otherwise if it didn't work out. It's interesting that you don't need to power up hermits with 2-cost secondary moves; you can place one item when you switch to them and then the next when you attack. Unless you get knocked out unexpectedly, then you might run into some trouble. Although the chorus fruit play was bad and personally I would have used the composter asap because it's just a dead card until you use it. But I'm not sure the composter card is worth playing in the first place, it's card selection but card disadvantage. (it costs 3 cards to draw 2, but you get to choose which other 2 cards to discard, but until you use it you're holding a dead card)

Is it me or did the flee card not get completed at the end of Ren’s turn? I don’t think it mattered as the tnt would also ko xisuma with bow + hypno snipe but pretty weird that it didn’t happen (or I missed something)

The strongest decks I tested out online is just a Grian and Mumbo combo.Quite Simple can literally deal 320 damage in right conditions it's so insane

Hope if/when beefs next expansion comes.out in a few months he adds Biomes (either like Yu-Gi-Oh field cards that buff/nerf the attacks for certain hermit types or create ongoing incentives like everyone draws an extra card or attacks do half damage or all active hermits are burned etc etc. Like a mix of MTG enchantments The possibilities are endless. Biome definitely seems like a sure new type. Wonder what other card types would make sense and be smooth.

GG Doc! Bad luck drawing so many Hermits early and the prize cards were useless. Maybe didn’t play perfectly in early stage as you said using chorus fruit though it’s hard to say if it truly hurt you. But then you grinded it out overcoming Ren’s tempo and still got the win! The true GOAT!

One of the annoying parts of TCGs: not getting what you need sooner. I know that feeling so much. But, don't lose hope! Like any massive Farming machine, find the redundancies and fix it to improve consistency. Maybe shave off a bit of your Hermits for more Items?

I don't think the Chorus Fruit usage at 9:39 made any sense to do. You could've made Hypno active instead of Cleo, and there was already a Miner Item card attached. So Hypno would've killed Impulse, and the turn would've ended in the exact same configuration.

When Hypno was in could Doc have added the redstone item, and just began attacking the AFK doc using the bow to take him down from 260 to 130 (pitching the redstone) and then attacking the next turn into doc again for 90 leaving him at 40, and then when he drew the next bow he could have sniped the AFK Doc and done some regular damage to the active hermit?
