I am sure Doc and Grian have talked a little... Doc would not do something to intentionally hurt any of Grians builds as I am sure raining creepers could very well do if it was completely a surprise attack... plus coordinating a good time to be online for both of them or to make sure Grian is recording before he goes into somewhere

"Why did you build something like that, it's such a waste of time" That basically describes the Hermitcraft server as a whole. Everything here is excessive, and it's what the viewers know and love. So don't worry too much about people thinking that, because pushing Minecraft to the limits is what Hermitcraft is all about.

Honestly why bother playing a block game - why play any game at all? For that matter - why do anything? Simply stop existing because honestly it’s such a waste of time. You do what you love, and what other people enjoy. If you try to justify everything it just becomes pedantic and exhausting.

@Green Anxiety KZbin is a cruel environment, especially when you're trying to make content in a saturated category like Minecraft. That first 1000 subs can take ages. Cross-promote yourself. YT community posts, comments on related content (politely. Don't directly link your own videos/channel unless relevant to a specific comment), self-shared posts to appropriate subreddits (be mindful of subs that ban self-promotion), and other social media platforms. Until you have an audience built, the more frequent your updates the more traffic you can get. Not sure what your goals are, but 'success' at anything on YT requires either a lot of luck or a lot of persistence.

I think the elevator should show change in the floors along the lines of what Doc said about the fan art, how some are him growing and tending tomatoes and some just menacing world eaters! The first floor shows compassion to the tomatoes and underlying support planks for there growth, and with each floor his decent into madness begins, and by the end at the lowest floor, we meet the Doc who has seen the lengths it takes to empty a perimiter, forget about nature and assume the title of GOAT on his large and assuming thrown.

It lets water flow into the segments that are on by lowering them down 1 block. So I don't think that would work. (The display could totally use froglights, but I think it would have to be a slightly different design - inverting the segments and covering the top part with water) Or maybe that's what you meant, and I'm just being annoying. If that's the case, sorry.

However, i feel like it is a bit „spotty“… some more strips of the same grey blocks would help there and make it look more fitting, i think. I learned that such strips work better than spots from Scar who always tells this to every person who asks for terraforming advice and i think it would also apply here! I'd like to feel that building intricate, not always optimal things, is part of the experience that makes your videos be who you are. Not the whole experience, but a good part of it! Another very important chunk is just how relaxing it can be to listen to you talk for extended periods of time about whatever and whoever, because you have this way of going in depth to communicate those things in a way that is approachable for even those who aren't knowledgeable of every topic you bring up, and it then becomes equal part entertainment as educative, or just a more personal moment that doesn't feel exaggerated like much other content is for viewer retention. You're just you, and that's what I feel most people are here to experience.

"Whats happening? This farm seems to be making a strange sound." Nice way to say, the adult turtles are suffocating after being slaves and giving you things to brew potions.

I think having the elevator constantly moving in the background would be really neat! Maybe transporting items to different levels or something like that? Also having each landing progressively protrude less and less from the cliff face as it descends could look real nice

Hey Doc, loved the first floor of the elevator. I was thinking you might want to switch out the white stained glass for regular glass, if you do stained glass on each floor you'll get the fog effect

That elevator design is gorgeous Doc! And the Creeper-Yeeter is something I didn't know I needed to see. 😆 Next time I get blown up by one, I am going to come back to this video to rewatch it as creeper therapeutics. Thanks for sharing! Brilliant as usual.

every time you play a new season you completely change what i perceive to be possible in survival minecraft! i wonder what you and the hivemind could accomplish outside of the game!..... probably better not to think about it actually, stick to minecraft before you guys start finding glitches in reality :P

Hey Doc! Love the elevator. Thought on making the UI user friendly (I.e. Scar and Grian) maybe use an arrow instead of a redstone piece?

Absolutely loving Doc's energy in these vids! :D To expand on the colour coded floors, you could maybe order them in shades? If that makes sense? darker coloured floors are closer to the bottom, lighter coloured floors closer to the top? Just an idea

doc, your videos are very relaxing, as well as interesting! Sometimes you build things just because you can, not because they have to make sense. It's about the proof of concept or because they look cool, and you're absolutely right, its self expression. I'm so glad I decided to start watching your s8 videos, I'm always impressed by what you make, both the giant machines and the lovely eco builds!
