I wish you would have addressed positioning of the bull to allow the best chance to get both testes inside the band. Last night I was unable to get both inside the band because the 1 month old kept sucking them up.

On age, you definitely want to get it done before they've had more than about 6 months working the PBR and ABBI circuits. The meat definitely takes on a different character, and just trying to throw them to get the band on is...a....

Is there a way to check if a calf has had the burdizzo method used on them? We purchased a bull calf and I requested them to castrate prior to pick up. He still has testicles although they are relatively small. Just curious if there was a way to check for sure if this was the method used?

I was always told to cut when the moon is full so they do bleed. It's true! Now I just band, brand and tag within 5 hours to a day. I use an electric branding iron. Less stress on the calf all the way around. Now going on 23 years doing so.
