Honestly, it just looks like the second shot was a more painful shot. You see how the kid tries to "pull away" after the shot is well done? It's probably one of those shots that stings like crazy afterwards as it seeps into the muscle tissue. Tetanus shots do this to me. The doc probably would have gotten away with it again had the shot been a different kind of shot. That's just my hypothesis, though. What an amazing doctor. ~

Oh. I'm sure you're correct. The thing about vaccines is that when done with proper technique and if the patient is relaxed, you don't feel the needle. It's the medicine that can hurt. In my experience MMR, Varicella, and HPV vaccines are commonly the most painful.
