The shot alone is already more than enough reason to make a baby cries. I think William cries not only for the shot, but also for the feeling of betrayal. Throughout the day, his dad keeps saying only the baby will get the shot so William believes it as a promise. So, once his dad said to him to get a shot at the end, a kid like William won't care how important the shot is. All he cares is his dad's reassurance throughout the day that he won't get a shot but got betrayed. It's not like it's Sam's fault too though because Sam also knows William won't get a shot. I am glad that Sam handles this really well. Sam is great in consoling William. For Ben, food is more than enough to make him smile again, haha...
