Doctor/Missy + Master || I Thought We Were the Same (Doctor Who)

Oh Missy :( I’m still devastated about 10x12 and that the Doctor might never know her final choice. Michelle Gomez was incredible all season, so nuanced and heartbreaking without ever losing the fun and warmth of her Master. Her and Capaldi made me want to go back & watch Pertwee/Delgado and their great friendship. If you haven’t seen their eps, I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Apparently Pertwee and Delgado were close friends, it was a big part of the reason why that version of the Doctor/Master relationship had such strong undercurrents of friendship and mutual respect. Pertwee often cited Delgado's tragic death in a car accident as one of the reasons for leaving DW. This video was very well done. The Master has always been both the Doctor's opposite and his anchor. I think in a way, they always both feared one another - feared the lure of their friendship and the temptation of the other side. For good or evil, if they had ever truly stood together, they'd have been unstoppable.

The usage of clips from ClassicWho give such a great texture to this video, particularly in showing the true complexity of their relationship. The scenes with Pertwee and Delgado particularly tugged on my heart strings. Well done!

If that's what does end up happening then she'd be a walking talking prequel. We know she can't die and she'd have any character development because she's gonna have to be the way she is when she first meets the 12th doctor. I honestly don't think that would be a good idea.

Kyle Joultz remember the magicians apprentice when clara and missy were talkig about the doctor, something like this was said Missy - 'and he keeps trying to kill me, its sort of our texting' Clara - 'oh, must be love' Missy - 'oh dont be disgusting, were time lords not animals. Try nano-brain to rise about the reproductive frenzy of your little food chain and, contemplate a friendship. A friendship older than your civilisation and ultimately more complex' Basically this is stating that missy doesnt like the doctor in that way, and probably never will considering they have known eachother for longer than the human race, i dont know about u, but after knowing someone for that long, theyre almost definitely stuck in the friend zone unless i first knew them as a partner. Just my opinion

Keep in mind that the Master has been predestined to be the polar opposite of the Doctor due to the Gallifrey exit strategy from the War.They never had the opportunity like the one that is coming. One thing's for sure, there is a lot going on in multiple levels......its nice.

This is just stunning. Really changes the Master in ways you thought were not possible. You really hit this out of the park. I like how the Master has been portrayed all these years, but let's not kid ourselves, the Master is pretty evil to the core. Always doing the dark evil thing, no matter how much the Master acknowledged that it was dark and evil. But you have managed to convey what I think Moffet was trying to do in the end with this regeneration of the Master, seeing it possible for even the Master to change. Your video was outstanding.

I don't really think the Master is truly evil, but really just insane from the time he looked into the untempered schism and saw the raw power of the universe. It's even like 10 said, some are inspired, some run away, and some go mad. The Doctor ran, and the Master went mad.

I love it so much, it's the best edit of their relationship I've seen (and I've seen most of 'em and a lot are excellent!) You captured the longevity and timelessness of their friendship/love story/war whilst also keeping the heartbreak and humour feeling really immediate and fresh. Brilliant! That really, truly was! I'm still at the very beginning of watching Classic Who (I decided to start watching from the Third Doctor era) and don't know much about relations between the Doctor and the Master back then but your vid made me intrigued. I supposed they were more like the typical bad guy/good guy style in Classic episodes but I see there may be more than that. Additionaly, you made it all nicely edited. Such interesting case of relationship they have together.
