I am an aesthetician. You get blood on nearly all waxing the first time. I don’t use that hard wax. I use honey wax that I place cloth strips over and pull the opposite direction to how the wax was applied. Which was the same direction that the hair grows. Blood drops aren’t really something that you can stop. Some people are just more sensitive and have really good circulation. It wasn’t any more painful for him than ripping the wax off was. Unless he went and put alcohol on it afterwards. Which they would have warned him not to do. No scrubbing or adding anything except the oil or lotion they use afterwards for 24 hours. Otherwise you can irritate the skin and cause infection.

Thank you!! There was a comment i made where I shared my frustration n desire that there be better training for waxing for men. Then this person, who disagreed with me said They were experienced in the matter n added it has to be fast or else it would hurt more. I dont agree however. i was trying to find a video that properly explained the process. With one video, The person doing a demonstration: did the one nostrils twice with hard wax. Two different sections of the inner nostrils, n each time, applied a peasize of the wax, and held the bridge of the nose when pulling. Controlled, quick, not excessive as if getting off on seeing the clients reactive to pain.

@@sukuntee yes that's actually the correct way to do it, small sections and quick but firm hold on the skin. If you're going to do the nostrils it's also good to hold their forehead so that they don't thrash forward. I would never wax someone's head though even if they wanted to be bald. The root of head hair is similar to pubic hair it's very big compared to the root. It's super painful and can be very damaging.

But the industry is so oversaturated on you tube and there's so many conflicting views it's hard to teach people when it's so easy to be attacked because someone disagrees. You CANNOT go slow and give breaks between waxing. This allows Adrenalin to fade and pain to set in. You want to finish it all immediately for the least amount of pain.

As a former aesthetician I can assure you that when you wax someone this shouldn't be happening period. Regardless of what type of wax you use. This isn't the correct way to wax. You do medium sized areas of wax and do them individually one at a time as you go to prevent the wax from sitting too long on the skin. The longer it sits and the larger amount/ area of wax there is and if the wax is too hot when applied the more it'll hurt and the more it'll cause redness to the skin and or bleed. So if this is happening to you with your clients, you're not doing it correctly. I worked at wax places and spa's. Given max amounts in tips. Simply for giving them a good mostly painless experience. My comment is only to educate not belittle so I'm hoping it doesn't come off that way. But truly this isn't okay. Unless this is the experience he/ they all wanted for shock value.

Not to mention the risk of ingrown hairs in your nose. They're not only incredibly, insanely painful, they can get infected. An infection anywhere on or in your nose is not good. Doctors call it the zone of death, because the infection is so close to the blood-brain barrier. I knew someone who had an ingrown nose hair that turned into a massive infection. The hair grew all the way to the other side, and became a cyst on his nose.

She's good. It needs to be done as fast as possible. When you're slow, the fear and pain sets in and that's just the worse. I had one awful experience in a salon where this lady kept taking her time, then reapplied in the same area, again. It was my second experience, the first experience was also not too good but at least that lady dint torture me like the second lady. It was not fun and for a while I just stuck to shaving. Now I started waxing again, but I do it at home and at the pace I want to go, and it's so much more painless and fast.

Whether it’s strip wax or hard wax you always work in small sections. I notice more cosmetologists do this than estheticians. When I was in school for esthetician the Cosmo instructor asked me to go into her classroom to teach them how to use hard wax because they burned themselves and the wax was way too watery.

You shouldn’t pull or wax your nose hairs. You could get an infection in the nasal cavities, that can infect your brain and kill you. Waxing can lead to damaged skin, infections and ingrown hairs in other parts of the body. It’s not worth the risk. It’s easier, cheaper and safer just to trim it. Trimmers work just as well. However, trimming doesn’t last as long as waxing.
