Yes! Great to see the variety as well, with Dr Jones being a chiropractor, and many specialist MDs and DOs jumping on board, as well dentists including one interviewed by Dr Baker who was able to help a patient reverse a very painful progressive "largely untreatable" oral tissue disease after adopting a carnivore diet.

F.L.O.A.=Fasting like our ancestors. Dr. Jones has a great online practice that I hope goes mainstream. We are starving for this common sense approach. With his practice exploding this last while, it won't be long before carnivore reaches the tipping point for society. Thanks Dave!

19:03 I hope you're reading this doc. I was doing SO WELL on a carnivore diet and once I heard that Paul Saladino (who I admired and trusted back then) started to consume fruits and honey and dairy, I allowed myself as well, but with MUCH smaller amounts than he consumes. What happened?! My inflammation came back and so did my joint pain. I stayed in denial for so long blaming it on myself or my genetics, rather than cutting out the SUGARS that I LOVED!! I've been allowing myself to have a half a tablespoon of honey in my big glass of tea that I usually don't even finish half of it, and occasionally some dairy, or some tangerines or blueberries, for the past year!! I was doing VERY little of that and not even every day. about 6 days ago, I decided to go against Paul's advice and try and do what healed me in the beginning, which was clean carnivore. I already feel better and my inflammation is already gone!!!! Fruits, honey and dairy is food for the sugar and carb addicts, not for people who eat to live and thrive. They're pleasure foods for those who live to eat. I'm just letting people know that Paul's advice was certainly detrimental for me personally and that Paul isn't even trained in human nutrition and can't distinguish between a reputable study and a weak one. Trust me on that one. Ok back to the video. Edit: ok I'm glad you did say "tolerate" so you acknowledge that those aren't good for you. You're off the hook now lol. Kind of..

I used to have regular cheating with chocolate. And I found the solution to it. Whenever I have the cravings I eat fatty meat until satisfied and then I take the chocolate after my meal and I have realised that my cravings are completely gone... at this point to eat the chocolate becomes literally forcing it into my mouth without any desire to eat it... even the taste seems off like from chocolate to poop....😮 It's crazy how much I like chocolate when craving it but if I eat fatty meat I don't want to see it just an hour later. I would recommend everyone to battle the cravings that way. ❤

What kind of chocolate are you eating? Many years ago I ate some chocolate (I won’t mention the brand) and I thought it tasted a bit manure-ish. I’m doing the World Carnivore challenge this month, but what I liked about 90-100% dark chocolate was that it didn’t start my craving. I could eat just one bite after dinner and then ignore it for weeks at a time. I still have some around during this month when I’m not eating any carbs and I can totally ignore it.

Well, I'm a tad annoyed you were so close minded starting out doc, but I'll forgive you 😅 Gets even better 6+ months in. You're pretty young, might grow back some of that hair (happening to me!) I did fasting when I was doing keto, really helpful I think. But completely dropped it on carnivore, don't really feel it's beneficial at all now. And I naturally kind of do it when I am simply not hungry. I really don't think any of that regiment diet stuff is needed if plants are not eaten. Thanks guys and welcome aboard!

Hmmm - fruit is the way that plants reproduce; in order to protect their "young", immature fruit is higher in toxins, which are gradually removed as the fruit ripens, making it more attractive to the animals that will spread the seeds. Most fruit in grocery stores is picked before it is ripe, eliminating the opportunity for the plant to remove those toxins. So - unless you have an apple tree, and can pick your fresh fruit when ripe - AND have an heirloom variety, and good, healthy soil with all the microbes and micronutrients - you will get a fruit that is higher in sugars, higher in toxins, and lower in beneficial nutrients. There is a big difference between home-grown, organic produce and anything you get at a store - ANY store! The average medium apple has 19 grams of sugar - your body only needs about 4, so that's going to trigger an insulin reaction because any amount above 4 grams in the bloodstream becomes damaging.

I’m doing the World Carnivore challenge this month (January, 2025) but I really miss the color on my plate. I didn’t really have any current issues (having already lost 80 lbs and maintained it), so I don’t have a strong enough “why” to not add a little bit of seasonal vegetables or fruit and even an occasional bite of 100% dark chocolate. I guess you could call my final eating plan as ketovore. I still won’t eat added sugar, grains, or seed oils.

Regarding the doctor's "fruit on carnivore" approach, he is only citing the insulin sensitivity [to sucrose] from eating fruit, yet ignores or, is unaware of the seven-fold [versus sucrose] deleterious effects to the body by the fructose in the fruit. Fruit has no benefit to humans unless it's playing a role in survival or is deemed worth the tradeoffs by the individual.
@DrJonesDC
@DrJonesDC 13 күн бұрын
Fruit plays a massive role from the perspective of keeping somebody on a near proper human diet. What’s optimal for an individual is what they can actually adhere to which is closest to “the” optimal.

Back in 2019 I dropped 70 pounds in 4 months with extended fasting and at the time I would have said carnivore. My definition of carnivore is more strict these days. Regarding those fasts, I'd fast 60-66 hours feast for 24-36 hours and start fasting again. I felt great but I think that fasting that much that close together destroyed my gallbladder. I definitely don't recommend fasting that much or that often. I still IF every day and have only undertaken a couple of extended fasts over the past nine months. I'd like to add more in, but with my consistent weight loss I don't see it as a need at the moment. I'll definitely add in more extended fasts to see if that will help with any loose skin. I had no loose skin in 2019 after dropping 130 pounds. Six years older and gaining all the weight back, I doubt I'll have the same success avoiding loose skin.

Did one 30-day fast to lose 15Kg. 2weeks before, started eating pork belly in AM. After fasting, switched to carnivore. It worked for me but there are better ways. Over Easter, do dry fast for 40 days (intermittent and only eat/drink at sundown) for Holy Week, full fasting. Not sure if 7 days will be wet/dry yet.

It’s actually easier if you live alone. Get rid of all the processed bad food, all the sugary items. Just throw them out if nobody wants them and have only meat in your fridge, plus lots of eggs, good butter and maybe cruciferous vegetables. Buy a jar of tallow from a good source and go for it!

Starting out with Intermittent Fasting really helped me get rid of the cravings! Then when I moved into carnivore, the weight fell off so easy (25 lbs). I have another 15 to go, and I IF every Sunday. The body becomes better at metabolism when we change it up. Carnivore keeps me so satisfied that I typically have no temptation. If I lived alone it would be easier. My husband constantly offers me junk....so annoying!

@ Well, I’m super glad you found carnivore and you are speaking up about it. I can’t get my doctor, whom I really like, to have a real conversation about it. All she can focus on is the fact that my cholesterol has gone up some. All my other markers are better, and, I’ve lost 56 pounds in 1.75 years and I’ve been able to go off my HRT and tons of those aging irritations are improving. Still, she has zeroed in on that one marker. I view it as my body still making repairs. :/
