Omg the timelines whether they look the same or not... That's a poor theory. They should be able to look different IF THEY ARE FEOM OTHER UNIVERSES... HOWEVER. If they are from the same timeline like : example: Loki breaking his by getting the Tesseract and changing his timeline....THEN and only then they would look the same. NOW THAT MAKWS MORE SENSE. Otherwise you run into sloppy writing and theories and then they are just ALL OVER THE PLACE. . Also again I found it completely ridiculous that America was the only who doesn't dream therefore there is only one - she's one of a kind? It's pure nonsense so I'm just saying.

The reason demons attacked Strange when he used the Dark Hold is because he was Dream Walking into a dead body specifically. It had nothing to do with just using the Dark Hold.

Alternative timelines are not the same as alternative universes. Alternative timelines are based on all possible variations inside a universe. And the possibilities are finite, just search about “light cone”. Alternative universes are a concept where multiple universes popup in a multiverse foam, each one with their own big bangs. And they could have slightly different physics rules, even so that some universes collapses right after starting due to unstable physics. On the movie, imagine the ink universes, there’s no nexus event that would cause that. Also, our universe strange change to fit in the other universe physics rules, becoming ink, or the cartoon version.

Exactly what I was thinking. One way I put it In simpler terms is that a whole universe is like a tree with many branches, the bark of the tree would represent the main timeline of that whole universe and the branches that stems from it are the alternate timeliness from that very same universe or in other words you could also say it's just a duplicate version of that same universe with slight differences, the timeline is used to separate the two from each other but still being connected to the same universe. So the main mcu 616 is one tree, (universe) with its own different branches and the 838 world is another tree, (universe)with their own branches. So, Tobey maguire spider man came from one tree (universe) witch could have other tobey maguire spidermans in it, likewise Tom holand spiderman comes from another tree that could have other tom holands spiderman from different timelines in his (tree), universe.

The whole ink universe thing is possible through a nexus event, you're just not looking far enough. Think the beggining of time where celestials are shaping the universe, there is where all the fundemantally different realities would start. The celestials making different decisions on how the universe would look, and that would lead to branches that are very different.

Multiverse is a collection of different universes where characters may be same or different. Alternate timelines are created in 1 universe, due to time travel or creating a nexus event.

The universes that are woven together to form the Sacred Timeline essentially follow more or less the same story- the story that He Who Remains had written for them (because he knows what can lead to another Kang variant being born) and so whenever someone or something veers off that pre-decided path (free will) it creates a branch and the TVA swoop down on them and prune the branch.

Okay, let's be real, the MCU is about to loose it logic, which is fine, it's a comicbook universe, of course it's going to be completely insane. They are using different words to explain basically the same thing (timelines=dimensions or sourcery=witchcraft), whatever sounds better. We need to accept that there will be a lot of plotholes and disappointments. Less character driven story, more fanservice and hype, Dr Strange was a great example for that. I forgot 80% of that movie just 15 minutes after I left the cinema and I'm afraid that's exactly what Marvel studios intention is. Don't think too much, go to the cinema or Disney+, give them your money and have a good time while you do, but most important: DON'T THINK TOO MUCH! I'm looking forward to Thor Love and Thunder, until now it fells like they don't over-hype it like Dr Strange.

Marvel's website has an article called "How Loki leads into the Multiverse of Madness" with comments from Kevin Feige & one of his producers. it confirms that, while there are small differences, alternate timelines & alternate universes are essentially one and the same.

See I'll explain this to you. Imagine all the parallel universes being a bunch of sticks tied together by a band. What this means is that even though the characteristics of each person in each multiverse may have been different, the same general course of events seemed to be happening. In all the universes, Loki had attacked New York, Thanos had gone on his infinity quest which basically means all the universes followed roughly the same sequence of events (this sequence of events was the sacred timeline). What happened in Loki is that the band connecting the universes was broken when He who remains was killed. This released the timelines in such a way that every universe had their past and future events changed, and no longer had to abide by the sacred timeline sequence of events. This resulted in the formation of some universes where vastly different events happened, like the Avengers not existing in Toby and Andrew's universes. I think you can interpret the multiverse like this.

The main thing of the TVA is they had 1 goal. If your change somehow creates a different Kang. You destroy the universe, who cares no Kang. You didn't make this video, depends if it butterflies into different Kang. If so TVA intervenes.

Not exactly true not all universes were roped into the Sacred Timeline only the ones that led to any version of Kang we found that out at the end of LoKi. All the other universes were left to be free cause those universes alternate timelines did not lead to total destruction of Multiverse. As of today I don’t believe there is away to travel to an alternate timeline u can only create one through nexus events and your experience would be the new timeline. In Avengers Endgame they went back in time in their OWN universe to steal the stones but they put them back the moment they took them so in actuality they never really left best explained by the ancient one. They avengers were pretty clever and did not know it 😂😂

Kinda this. Thing is, is that Visions creation is all tied to Tony Stark and Ultron. As Vision is essentially Jarvis. There will be universes where Jarvis still exists which means that Vision doesn't or like you said wasn't need to beat Ultron. That or Tony Stark may not have ever made a Jarvis to begin with or even needed him.

There seems to be a bit of overthinking going into this. The real reason the multiverse & alternate timelines are being used interchangeably in the MCU is because it gives them a way to bring together characters that were doled out to Sony & Fox years ago.Which raises the question of why they couldn't do that without conflating the multiverse with alternate timelines conceptually,but that's neither here nor there.Even a casual reader of DC Comics before 1986 knew the difference between the concepts.Jay Garrick wasn't Barry Allen from an alternate timeline: they were 2 totally different guys with the same skill set from different universes,just to give one example.The best way to enjoy the MCU's "cosmic films" is to hand wave this stuff &/or deactivate your frontal lobe while watching them.

Sang Chi rings do have magical powers. In the first movie they did not show it. In comics all 10 rings are different with different powers. Each of the Ten Rings has a specific name and power. In fact, the rings have an intelligence all their own and are known to communicate with one another. Here's a rundown of each ring: Daimonic - controls light and energy on the electromagnetic spectrum Incandescence - generates waves of heat and flame Influence - manipulates various forms of energy The Liar - manipulates the minds of others and creates hallucinations Lightning - generates lightning blasts Nightbringer - creates a bubble of complete darkness (possibly by tapping into the Darkforce Dimension) Remaker - manipulates molecules and speeds up and slows down entropy Spectral - completely destroys a person/object down to the atomic level Spin - creates vortexes of air, can be used for flight Zero - controls ice and cold, allowing the Mandarin to emit freezing blasts or lower an opponent's body temperature

Okay im gonna clear everything up. A Muiltiverse is a collection of parallel universes with slight to drastic variations ours being one of those (Universe 616). Each Univierse within that multiverse has DIMENSIONS (not the same ones but copies of them) EXAMPLE; (THE DARK Dimension, VALLHALLA). The Thor movies explains the Dimension concept using the terms "realms OR dimensions" interchangeably which can be confusing but they're in essence the same thing. Now Timelines different as they are linear flows of time that govern the order in which things take place within a single universe. This Applies to ALL Universes Known or UKNOWN. BUT a timeline CAN possibly branch off into many OTHER timelines within one universe which ARE CALLED a Nexus events. Nexus Events are policed by the TVA to maintain OUR UNIVERSE's Timeline (The Sacred Timeline) (NOT ALL UNIVERSES HAVE TVA"S!!! They protect the continuity/flow to prevent Kang's emergence from a different UNIVERSE into OURS! There can only be one TVA and that exists and it ONLY EXISTS in a Pocket universe unaffected by time! Kevin feige stated He Who Remain's (THE Leader/CREATOR of the TVA) Death allowed chaotic branching of nexus events (Births of alternate timelines) which left OUR main universe vulnerable to the other Universes Kang's! his Absense provoked KANG THE CONQUERERS pursual of ours.The TVA Essentially hid our universe from the ENTIRE Multiverse before HE WHO REMAINS DIED. And Now everything (ANY UNIVERSE) is exposed, vulnerable to a POTENTIAL Multiversal war. Universe 616 now has a seat to that table😂😂

Also, it's possible Wanda had kids with a human "Vision". Jarvis' AI was designed with Howard Stark's driver (Jarvis) in mind. So in that universe, perhaps Jarvis had kids with Wanda and he was just alive later in the timeline.

I definitely get Jabys confusion because in Endgame when they went back in time anything that they altered made that timeline a new timeline and new universe and new reality because it’s been set to a different course, it would still be considered part of the multiverse even though it’s just a new altered timeline

The avengers put all the stones back. This basically pruned those alternate timelines. The ancient on best explained that to Bruce. They basically did the TVA’s job for them😂😂 that’s why the TVA wasn’t upset with what the Avengers did.

There's a bit of contradiction between Endgame & Loki TVA time travel rules, but Cap putting the stones back prevents timelines from branching out from that alt. timeline. The alternate timeline itself continues to exist.

4:38 so here is the thing...the so called timeline, showed in LOKI's TVA screen is a bundle of universes running parallel to each other on the AXIS OF TIMELINE. Then there happens a NEXUS event (it is a particular decision or action taken by a variant which was not suppose to happen under the regulations of TVA or the TIMEKEEPERS whatever) that happen in any ONE of the universe, from that bundle of universes. So whatever was happening in Dr. Strange, those were under TVA's regulation and none of them created a nexus event. BUT, on the Red Carpet Feige had given a clue about ending of Loki, which i have no clue✌

Alternate timelines and alternate universes are not wholly different nor are they mutually exclusive. Before He Whom Remains existed. The multiverse did. The problem was that in each universe that spawned a Nathaniel Richards aka Kang The Conqueror/He Who Remains, he always discovers the multiverse and it leads to war amongst the universes. So after winning the multiversal war He Who Remains(The Nathaniel that won) took those universes and wove them into the Sacred Timeline because it one can control to prevent another version of himself from popping up and spawning another Multiversal War. Now each time the Sacred Timeline splits and creates a new timeline, it creates a new universe that will eventually spawn another Nathaniel Richards which in turn will spark a whole new Multiversal War. Outside of the Sacred Timeline however the Multiverse still exists, these universes make up the unknown universes because they have not spawned a Nathaniel Richards at some point and thus couldn't be controlled by one of his variants. So in short while different timelines can and do create new universes to make up a multiverse, it is own creating a new multiverse outside of and/or in addition to a multiverse that already exists. Hope this helped and sorry if it's too long a read.

Would've made sense if Robbie Reyes as Ghost Rider from Agents of SHIELD appeared in this since he was last seen carrying the Darkhold which happens to be the same book Wanda had which ended up being the big MacGuffin of the movie. We could've gotten a legit confirmation as to whether or not Agents of SHIELD was canon to the MCU or if it was set in a different universe that's similar to the MCU the entire time. Regardless, we might end up seeing his return to the MCU considering how Multiverse of Madness ended up with the Darkhold being destroyed in most universes as a way to tie up that loose end.

Theory: the upcoming WonderMan movie will have his mind merged with vision (in the comics his mind was actually from WonderMan, that might be how he gets emotions and personality back. I'm just SOOOO frustrated they waited too long for Nathan Fillion to be him, without de-aging him or having him be an older WonderMan from another universe where he found himself thrust into the MCU 616 from the comic 616 or some other universe where he already had the love triangle with Vision over Wanda which could even be explored in the WonderMan movie (My choice would be a post credit scene hint maybe... at the end of the movie he goes home to relax and it shows he's married to Wanda) :-) then when he gets into the 616 he tries to connect with Wanda and at some point agrees to have his mind merged with Vision, maybe as he's dying? I dunno, ok unlikely so I guess this is just fan-fiction hope instead of Theory. :-)

There is no inherent sorcery. Anyone can use sorcery if trained. It's pulling energy from another dimension. Witchcraft requires inherent magic as I assume the power is coming from the person themselves. In fantasy, it is generally considered the difference between a wizard (an inherent magical being) and a sorcerer (a borrower/taker of magic). For instance, in the Witcher the mages would be wizards and witchers, with their runes, would be like small time sorcerers.

13:43 ScreenCrush missed the part in the movie that said it was against the Darkhold's rules to dreamwalk in a dead body. The damned souls tell him this and then start to attack him. You don't need to be the Scarlet Witch to use the Darkhold.

The sacred timeline's definitely multiple timelines woven together, because Classic Loki was able to get away with not dying in Infinity War - his nexus event was going BACK to earth. So really, the sacred timeline's a bunch of timelines which don't result in something He Who Remains didn't want. I think.

21:17 I understand Jaby lol! Shang Chi is my third favorite superhero. However, I think it's okay that he wasn't in this movie. It would of been cool, but I think it would of taken away Doctor Strange's moments and the other surprise cameos. Also, from my knowledge, the ten rings are actually astonishing technology from an advance alien race of shape-shifting Dragons,*The Makluans I think their called* it just for us humans, it appears to be magical because of how amazing their tech is. Regardless, even though it would of been cool to see Shang Chi, I think it would of been to much. I'm glad Marvel is doing something different from the other Phases. Reminds me of Phase 1

I think multiverses in the MCU are akin to multiple dimension theory. So those dimensions existed independent of eachother, some having existed longer than others, some being younger than others. Alternate timelines can become universes within the multiverse as they branch further away from their multiverse of origin, becoming independent from them, the same way events can bring two completely separate universes within the multiverse closer together until they collide.

Multiverse is different from Dimensions. Dimensions are parts of one universe within the multiverse. how would i explain this. an example of dimension is, Dark Dimension, Mirror Dimension, Astral Dimension.. Multiverses refer to parallel earths that has it's own Dark Dimension, Mirror Dimension, etc.

So basically what I’m getting at with all of this is timeline is a single flow of time in a universe. The multiverse already existed prior to Loki and Sylvie killing He Who Remains. Killing him created the opportunity for the sacred timeline to branch off and leave that timeline vulnerable to other variants of Kang. He Who Remains was keeping the flow of time consistent to prevent Multiversal war that the other Kang variants are hell bent on creating. If branching timelines continue on long enough, they in turn become an alternate universe with similar roots depending on when those timelines branched off from from the sacred timeline. Now, dimensions are different. Dimensions are part of the multiverse but exist on a different plane entirely between universes. Any being that exists in said dimensions is the same being across the multiverse and doesn’t have any variants. Examples include Dormamu, C’thon and the possible existence of Mephisto. There is 1 C’thon, 1 Dormamu, 1 Mephisto. That’s what makes them so powerful because these are god like beings with such power to literally bend and break all of reality across the multiverse but don’t because they have their own role to play in the Omniverse as given from the greatest being One Above All. Any of the “gods” like from Moon Knight and Thor and such have power, but are truly insignificant and weak in comparison. Realms are weird. Realms exist outside of time at different levels of size whether micro or macro. In Thor, the term “realm” was used incorrectly because in reality the 9 realms are one realm in a matter of speaking. My guess is the writers probably don't understand the concepts very well which shows in the latest doctor strange movie.

Actually no, a universe only has 1 timeline, the ancient one explained if the timeline branched off due to time travel or whatever it would create an alternative universe, so everytime a timeline is tempered with something that wasnt supposed to happen it creates an alternate universe where that thing DID happen

That specific universe has a strict rule of maintaining just one timeline without any branches. This further explained in Loki. Other universes does not apply the same rule as the main 616 universe. What If... series also a proof that different universes have different rules when it comes to branches in timelines. You clearly not even up to date with the current storyline.

About Universe, Dimension, and Quantum Realm.. QR simply, is the reality at sub-atomic level. Its the most fundamental level of time/space continuum(What we perceive as reality). So to exist within such fundamental level one has to be detached from the time and space itself, that's why it is said that "Time behaves differently in QR). Dimensions are simply measurable extends of a universe. There are currently 4 known dimensions but there could be infinitely more, yet to be discovered. Universe, in the simplest term, is a container that contains time/space continuum and everything within it. So dimensions and QR are part of a given universe. There can exist multiple timelines tending to infinity, inside any given universe, since time isn't rigid and everything that can happen has had happened already.

One of the problems that I have with the explanation that alternate realities are alternate universes, is that they're simly not. It also woldn't make sense with the infinity stones having each a property of the universe, since by this logic the Time Stone and Reality Stone would share the same properties or be just one stone, which they are not. Fortunatily, the rules in Loki are simply ignored by both NWH and MoM, and it would simply be fixed if they got A-Timelines and A-Universes right. In the comics it's also clear that alternate realities and alternate universes are not the same. The Living Tribunal is responsible for the multiverse while the Time Variance Authority for the maintenance of the timelime.

Theory: White vision left at the end of WandaVision actually matches the comics in a way. The white version of vision was reborn after dying he came back without his emotional and left Wanda and the kids even though they were married. Here’s how I see it. The multiverse includes all the plains of reality, whether it be the Timelines, the Dimensions, or the Quantum Realm. Also, there is one Quantum Realm, one Dark Dimension, one Mirror Dimension, etc. that all the Multiverse shares. The rope analogy with the Sacred Timeline, simply means that the Avengers are supposed to go to similar timelines to get the stones. Then, something happens in those timelines that leads to another bunch of timelines and another and another and another, until it goes full circle back to the original timeline and influences it just the right way to make the circle or the rope continue to function. All the while, the TVA tends to the fraying fibers of that rope by burning them back, as long as to keep the rope from unraveling completely and falling into chaos. The chaos they are worried about, I believe, is incursions. Let me know if there are any gaps in logic or alterations you’d make!😅

Due to his explanation, MCU (aka The Sacred Time-line) was in order and under a disciplined protection which made MCU unaffected by any Multiversal Chaos or harmful phenomenon. After events of the Finale and shattering the time-line, the protective factor of the MCU (aka the Sacred Time-line) been removed and thus how it's fragil now and Multiversal Chaos has reached it's boundaries. The sacred timeline is different from a Traditional Timeline… the sacred timeline consists of a few different universes roped together by HE WHO REMAINS. These universes were deemed okay to merge or coexist because they eventually lead to Kangs multiversal war and him roping them together seemed to prevent his other dangerous variants from gaining control over the entire multiverse I believe lol..That part is confusing though💯

When the avengers went back in time to 2012 Loki stole the tesseract which wasn’t supposed to happen and it altered the reality of that timeline an produced an alternate timeline in which non of Loki’s life from 2012 to his death in infinity war happened. So this was a problem and The TVA spotted it instantly. But anything that ever happens in the MCU shows and movies are apart of the sacred timeline.

what we see in loki is one universe that is represented by a circular ring around the citadel which is called the sacred timeline i.e. different timelines of the same universe woven together so the other variants cannot reach the citadel to gain control over all the timelines. this is my take on it and yes it is confusing cause even the writers are confused by what is the difference between timeline and multiverse

My take is that alternate timelines are the same thing as an alternate universe, but a special case of them. Alternate timelines have a branching point that makes that universe have a difference to your point of reference original timeline because of that branching point/decision. An alternate universe is the same thing, but the branching point happened so long ago that the two universes are so vastly different that everything and anything could play out the way they do and make the amazing Spiderman universe or the mcu Spiderman universe.

Let me know if anyone has any question or might something more to it. the answer to jaby's question about making the video in this timeline and the light going off in the other universe has a simple answer in my opinion... if he who remains were still alive....then the light going off was not supposed to happen..meaning..all the timelines in the sacred timeline...like different strands in a rope were supposed to happen in the same way....so in this case...if the light was to go off....it was diversion from the sacred timeline predestined occurences as set by he who remains...so the tva wouldve come and with their powers destroyed this diverting reality as they did multiple times and made sure they eradicated the reason due to which light had gone off in the first place...so that this diverting reality in which the light went away never happened...but now due to death of he who remains...there is no one to destroy this diverting timeline which will lead to an alternating reality....like untangling of a rope in different threads that were supposed to be almost same and together...so now that the so called rope of sacred timeline is untangling into multiple threads of timelines resulting into alternating realities and universes...we can conclude that this led to the existence of mutants and all the other stuff which were never supposed to exist in the sacred timeline and all its threads of parallel running timelines.....plus due to untangling of the sacred timeline...those parallel running timelines are not only getting more and more different from each other...but also more easily getting intertwined and crossing other timelines whiich made our universe more exposing to them...
