I'd give just about anything to have a doctor like Dr. Dennar who really cares about people. Tulane's 'special review' of Dr. Dennar was obviously a hit job, & it backfired, as well it should.

When TF when will this ish end?! Who TF do people think they are with all their entitled superiority attitudes?! NO ONE is better than another. This Efin world does not BELONG to anyone! We are ALL here on borrowed time. When will the playing field be leveled? These statistics continue to be alarming. No one is asking for Blacks to be given anything based on race or contingencies but qualifications as should other races. Man. This ish is getting EXHAUSTING to listen to. We call ourselves human? Who TF left any one of us in charge?
@rtthomas36673 жыл бұрын
No one is "in charge" but Whites are afraid that we're finally realizing that. For years, Whites deemed themselves "in charge" and everyone else just accepted it. No more. We all deserve a fulfilling human experience and we shouldn't/don't have to ask one group if we may partake.

Tulane requires white students to score 4 points higher on the ACT to be admitted this is funny to me how much of a demand racism is in right now the supply is so short... this story is completely grey in info it’s so vague and I can’t even walk away from this understanding what the problem is... again... u only need a 28 as a black person and u need a 32 as a white student.... for Christ sakes if that doesn’t scream trying to be inclusive idk what does there is no racial issues at this school it’s made up to divide us they love stories like these and people are becoming opportunistic to get a piece of attention by painting themselves as an heroic victim
@Seniors113 жыл бұрын
I hate when people spew out lies for gullible and uneducated people to believe 🙄. First, you’re talking about requirements for entry into Tulane University for undergrad; however, Dr. Denar is specially referring to Tulane School of Medicine. Her lawsuit specifies that their internal medicine/pediatrics residency program as well as many other residency programs offered at Tulane School of Medicine systematically ranks out students that went to a HBCU (look it up if you don’t know what that is) medical school over other medical schools. This is racist system. Hence, this reason as well as many other reasons, are the reason for the lawsuit. Second, I would love for you to provide factual evidence that proves that there is a “requirement” for white students to make a 32 on their ACT and black students a 28 at Tulane. It’s definitely NOT on the website.
@tiffaniejones58262 жыл бұрын
Show evidence that the application states that based on your white race, you must score 4 points higher than black applicants. What are the scoring requirements for Hispanics or Asians or Native Americans? You do know that making requirements based on race is the very definition of racism, right? Provide a link from the university's website showing that your score requirements are based on your race.

Black people make up approximately 13% of the U.S. population. The fact that 5% of doctors are black doesn't seem terribly egregious to me. And the difference doesn't necessarily imply bias or racism.
@factsoverfiction78263 жыл бұрын
Simple: in an equitable world, the percentages would be more equal. Instead, black doctors are only one-third. But this will change. A few decades ago, women were only 10% of med students. Now 60% of med students are female. So when things change, they eventually change dramatically.
@billtruttschel3 жыл бұрын
@@francesca234 If Tulane only accepted students from New Orleans, then the 59% statistic would be relevant. But it's not. In addition, I assume Tulane hires faculty from many different states and countries. The fact that 62% are white does not imply bias or racism. If anything that's a much lower number than universities in the U.S. Stop trying to equalize things across race...it's a game of whack-a-mole.
@billtruttschel3 жыл бұрын
@@francesca234 Why focus on skin color at all? Why not just recruit, hire, and promote based on merit, and whatever the skin color make up happens to be, it happens to be? The moment you put a person's race or skin color ahead of their competence is the moment you are favoring one race over another. That's the definition of racism.
@deborahlove12233 жыл бұрын
White males make up 31% of the population in America, hold 80+% of faculty jobs in Academia, 95% of top CEO positions in America, hold 65% of elected positions, and on and on. Sounds like biases and racism to me.

Race and gender discrimination do not come together. Gender discrimination comes only within a race or color. Blacks cannot discriminate each other by color. Hence, the next discrimination item is gender and other adjectives follow. e.g. height (tall vs short), build (fat vs thin), etc. etc. And by the way, all human beings are racists - believe it or not.
@rtthomas36673 жыл бұрын
but all human beings are not in positions of power that orchestrate the systemic oppression of less powerful races generation after generation. Herein where the problem lies.
