Okay I LOVE how you put little clips from previous episodes in the top right when whatever you're watching now reminds you of something in an earlier episode! That's so clever and such a good idea! I'm not the only one but I love the little clips in the corner. Sometimes I don't catch all the echos/parallels so its good to see them while you're reacting. Love your reactions, always. Regarding the Weeping Angels people think that because of the flux they need the Doctor to fix it or they'll die and if we think about it it could be possible. Just look at the Sontarans, they knew the flux was destructive but they're a war species so they wanted to use it, here the Angels depend on time and time is disrupted so they can't avoid their end unless they call someone for help ? idk. I'd love to know more about the angels but i kinda don't want to. I love the fact we just see them as statue creature lookalike. I think at the end of the spinoff Class there was a plot twist involving an angel that was kinda different from the ones we saw. For Amy/Rory it was because of the time paradoxe I think ? The TARDIS couldn't handle it, it was too dangerous. If you have the time you should check (maybe react ?) Margarita Life last edit on DW entitled "What's so dangerous about my future ?". It's very brilliant, she used past season moments + the ones with the 13th Doctor to deal with the Doctor as the cause of chaos/danger. There are some links that we don't think about but are just here and make so much sense.

The angels feed on the time you'd have lived but didn't because they sent you backwards, right? Maybe with time being all broken, it screws up causation and starves them, so they need the Doctor's help to fix it before they die out?

Woo Who! Another one! I LOVE that they finally used Time as a wibbly-wobbly mess! The jumping between points was PHENOMENAL! Doc became Pariah for a full episode and it was GREAT how Jodie made her so obsessed with finding out about her past! I kinda hate how she treats Yaz, tho. It's like how 11 treated early Amy, except Amy didn't let herself get pushed around... Anyone else feel like that? If 13 doesn't start giving answers, we're gonna have another Martha situation on our hands. LIttle bits and pieces of character's lives... I guess that means that Yaz will be okay, then? And maybe Di as well, but that hasn't happened yet, so it could very well NOT happen... Also, the Satsuna comment! "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy", as well as Tennant's first episode! Yes, we call them Videogames. No we won't give a shit about your skills. But if getting a date is the sole reason you get into gaming, you probably should start looking somewhere else, because I can GUARANTEE any guy you like physically at first glance is probably not gonna have gaming as his main interest. And if by some miracle he does, then he's WAY out of our league... (Wow. Really felt like ranting there...) "No human being". Turns into the Doctor, very much not Human. (At least on her fathers' side). Weeping Angels in "Resident Evil". That feels like a match made in Heaven, actualy. I didn't recognize Grey Worm until my father pointed him out. Like, WOW. The change is unreal! And I like that his story deals with moree political corruption. It'll be nice seeing the Grand Serpent get what's coming to him! AND CAN I SAY I love how heavily the Weeping Angels are featured this season? We haven't gone ONE episode without one, right? I love how the Mouri are essentially The Watchers from Marvel Comics. They can't interfere, just observe... I feel like what Swarm mean and the Lady in White meant is that this Universe is ending to give birth to a whole new one a la "Crisis on Infinite Earths". Like, this canon ends and then we give "Doctor Who" a fresh start in the 60th... That's what I think, at least. Speaking of... Could the Lady in White be from whatever species The Doctor was originally from? Before she was tossed to Gallifrey? I feel like it would make sense, but then how do you get to them? And just how far outside Time are they...? 3 Episodes to go! YAY! Ramble time! ° Okay, to be fair, Anybody with Time Travel could theoretically return to their point in time. The only reason Amy and Rory didn't is because of the massive ammount of Angels in Manhattan and the resulting paradox prevented them from using the TARDIS to time travel back to that point (which still doesn't explan why the Doctor couldn't travel until after they'd published River's book and THEN bring them back, but okay) and THEN got taken again. ° I NEED Yaz to scream at the Doctor. At this point she's asking to get Martha'd! If solving a puzzle means saving your life and everyone else's but the puzzle doesn't have all the pieces, not because they're lost, but because someone is hogging them, then the only way to win is to let the person with the pieces do it and not yourself. Yaz needs to stand her ground already. "You talk or I walk." Hell, say what you will about Clara but SHE did and it worked out for her! ° Take care of your head! YOU NEED IT TO UNDERSTAND THE PLOT! Your dedication, once again, astounds me, but PLEASE put your health first! That said, you're right! This Season is Jodie's BEST so far for me! Take care, Shayla! Be well! -"Ren".

Yaz maybe knows what a Weeping Angel is; in the DW tie-in comic where the Thirteenth Doctor met the Tenth Doctor and Martha while they were trapped in 1969, the Fam dealt with Angels (and Autons). It depends on whether they're counting the comic as continuity with the tv show. Yaz does catch on to having to look at them without blinking very quickly, so maybe she remembers how to deal with them; or maybe that's just Yaz being awesome and having a WWTDD moment ;)

The Rory/Amy thing was cause of the time paradox they caused by killing themselves before the Angels could get them so they were lost because going back could make things worse (Rip New York apart). I think the thing with Claire is she's been sent back and this Angel now has the TARDIS and likely taking them to the same place so she could get a lift back at the end but I get the feeling the Angels might actually need to Doctor's help with something for once and they decided to commandeer the TARDIS to force that help

I think because the doc and gang are taken to when Claire sent back, they can leave with her. Compared to Amy and Rory where leaving would require the doctor to go back in time to get to them, which was a paradox or something.

It took a while, but I am 100% sold on Jodie Whittaker as the Doctor. After this episode, there's no doubt in my mind that she's excellent. Just the other day, I said that Chibnall needs to _stop_ introducing new characters and work on developing the ones he already has. Well, this episode introduced a new character (Bel), and... I absolutely love her. I would _kill_ for a bottle episode with 13 and Yaz! That's such a great idea! And yeah, those two _really_ need to sit down and have a talk. This Flux season of Doctor Who is making me wonder if the Doctor is in a Parallel Universe. And if so, I think she's been in this universe ever since she pressed that button on the console, just after her regeneration. Maybe this also explains why the TARDIS exploded. If it does turn out to be a Parallel Universe, this season could end with it being destroyed or at least drastically altered. It would be good if during the last chapter, the 13th Doctor and the Ruth Doctor team up to put things right. Great reaction as always 👏👍.

@@CrankyGrandma Doubtful. The Time Lords liked to keep to themselves, but they weren't entirely absent from the universe. How else would the Daleks and Sontarans and such know about them? Heck, the Lodger episode is literally a failed attempt to recreate a TARDIS, and the tree lady from season 1 episode 2 clearly knew the Time Lords and their fate. Point is, sighting were rare - to the point Vinder thought they were a myth - but there's no way they wouldn't have shown up when someone messed with time more than they considered acceptable, and rumours get around easy.

In Blink!, the Doctor can’t take DI Shipton back to his past present time because Sally Sparrow has already told 10 (in her notes) that he lives his life through those days and what he does and when he dies (before the rain stops) and how old he is when he dies. Same with Nightingale. She lived in the long ago past and has grandkids in the present day and has a death date and everything. Everyone else is a bit flexible.

So, I'm confused as to why a Weeping Angel would need to pilot the TARDIS. The whole deal in Blink was 10 said the Angels needed to be kept out the TARDIS so that they couldn't feed on it's energy...and now there's one inside...??? Inconsistencies with Weeping Angels - no more of that please. Other than that seemingly logical flaw, another good episode, can't wait to hopefully see and learn more about the Fugitive Doctor - that's what the show is calling her. I do think Yas will try and confront the Doctor, and the Doctor will avoid talking about stuff, so I don't think it will happen until the last episode.

You catching onto the scene with Yaz playing viddyogames [ahem] possibly being a future moment as said by the Doctor, is an example of how people have probably caught onto different aspects and theories and how...fairly confusing and messy I found this episode [the Doctor's dialogue 'us with series 13' - the feeling's mutual]. I watched the episode a second time, and understood it a bit more, especially the exposition [which there was probably a bit too much of anyways], but aspects such as the where and when of each Passenger confused me. I'm not willing to write this off as the weakest chapter in Flux so far, because it may all add up, especially with the old woman. Tho the way things are looking, Yaz is getting more impatient with the Doctor. Whether Mandip Gil is leaving or not, is surely a secret.

My big problems with this era are that it was set up as being character based/more working class and domestic than moffats era, but it has never had the characterisartion to make that work. and since season11, the style has essentially become Moffat esque plotlines on speed; a whole big jumble of ideas, which has worked for me occasionally but has also continued to smother the doctor and companion characters even more. So basically already Simplistic character writing increasingly rendered even worse due to his increasingly cluttered storytelling style. I particularly feel Jodie has suffered from this: she HAS had an arc, and her personality has realistically evolved from the empathy driven, most humane doctor of all in series 11 to an increasingly strained and distracted by her past doctor who wants to but is having trouble holding onto her current reason for being (ie her fam, empathy etc), but a lot of the time this is barely evident: she is reduced to merely being flustered, ratting off exposition at a hyperactive speed. And jodie is REALLY good at delivering that style of dialogue in that doctor-y way- really good indeed, but it does not get rid of the fact that she is written as an overly simplistic slave to the plot a lot of the time. a good doctor with a milder personality than the last four is fine, but if youre not going to strongly zero in on and sharply define her personal characteristics, she simply becomes another character lost in the hustle and bustle, which she dramatically did in series 11. Become less of a problem since then, but still slightly is. Which is a shame because she is a really damn good actor. what personality she was given in her first series, ie the desperately trying to be empathy driven over fighting, embracing her friends positively, was not even properly done because her relationship with her companions always felt underdeveloped and she was never given enough more intimate moments with any of them like was promised at the start- again, her doctor was just lost to/a slave to the larger ideas.

my personal theory about the whole doctor who universe is actually multiverse. theyre finally explaining the regeneration right? what if the regeneration process is just pulling one person's doppleganger from another universe when he/she is dying, so he/she can cheat death. but because of that the universe the doppleganger is from will be deleted. much like this universe. thats the flux. the doctor from another universe is regenerating and pulling 13th doctor to replace him/her.
@kilgharra99923 жыл бұрын
Nice one ! I dig it. That could be an explanation on why it's their fault the Flux is happening like the old lady said. But also she said it was placed. And there is the locked in combat thing between Swarm and the Doctor. Maybe Swarm ans Azure are the Flux in physical form. They kinda have the same abilities. Enjoying this season a lot. It still has all the usual chibnall problems of characters and personalities being trumped over his ideas, poor exposition, standard characterisations, the doctor a lot of the time being relegated to "flustered hyper and expositional", but I really am appreciating the variety and scope of it all - different types of who adventures being represented, a genuinely intriguing (if incredibly, almost smotheringly overloaded) ongoing set of mysteries, dan is likable if simplistic, despite some dodgy cgi the visuals are entertaining me. I dont think this will be counted as a full success or the best thing who has ever produced, but Its a hell of an ambitious way for Chibnall and Jodie to go out.
