This is amazing. I didn't know I needed this til now. I'm starting to wonder if the Doctor Who creators really love us at all. :( Why can't we have openings like this? This was beautiful! Not entirely flawless, but so much better than the comparatively boring openings we have. This would make me really want to watch the openings! It makes me excited about the show. I love the retro Doctor Who logo, although, I also love the new ones x3 I hope you get hired to do the title sequences. There is no logical reason why you should not be.

I really don't get the BBC's point to make intros similar to fan made intros. I know they were inspired by the intros, but why not just call the creator and ask for permission to USE that intro? Imagine a fan's reaction when his own work is used for the show.

+Marky B You would need to have a basic understanding of video production and editing packages, but fortunately there are heaps of free apps out there for you to get stuck in! Even the standard Windows Movie Maker would be a good place to start, and you'll probably find it quite rewarding. While I do work on private commissions from time to time, my standard rate card begins at £25 per hour for smaller projects up to 100 hours, and then on a sliding scale of economy. It makes sense for commercial clients with a set budget and goal, but private commissions can tend to get pricey if it's not part of a larger marketing/production campaign. That being said I've enjoyed working on many private commissions with individuals who are less concerned with the financial outlay.
