This is Murray Gold’s equivalent to Ravels Bolero in the way you have a simple beautiful melody that repeats over and over starting out with only a couple of instruments but adding a few more each time it repeats building up to a brilliant crescendo with the whole orchestra. ❤❤

This is the best track im the show's history but I never want Gold to use it im the show again. It's so thematically tied to specific themes from Moffat's run if it's just plugged in at some point in the 60th specials It'll feel so cheap

I agree with it being the best song, but I think it should be used again, but only, for very impactful moments or moments where this song just fits so beautifully.

@@The0thDoctor Not even then, it's not 12's theme, it's first appearance was in Day of the Doctor, it's specifically tied to the idea of the show's status quo in context of building to the Twelfth Doctor's suicidal thoughts, I don't think that anyone would touch that if they brought him back, they'd probably just reduce him to 'the grumpy one'

@@acount_name2160 Nah, art is specifically tied to the context it's made, that's the only reason it has any meaning, if they tried play this in some emotional beat with like tennant regenerating again or some shit just because this track recognised by the fandom as "the emotional one" it'd feel so cynical and corporate.

Evening. My favourite track and episode. Bar none. In my 60s and a luddite regarding computers and technology. I drive a van, 12 years old, and have a radio/CD player only. Is there a legal way (or not so legal...) of getting this version and the rest of the concert on a CD anywhere ? Went to Royal Albert Hall Proms last month, definitely, absolutely the best night out in many, many years, but unfortunately, they didn't have my favourite in the set list. TIA, Paul. PS. Why is there no Series 10 soundtrack available anywhere ?

Something's wrong with the mix. The strings are getting buried in the middle. Violins are practically screaming at the top of their lungs starting at 2:49 and even more at 3:43, but you can barely hear them over the brass
