The research, scripting and visuals for this video must have taken ages to put together. Thank you for all your hard work on this 😀

The Doctor: ‘Mrs. Temple-Noble, I’ve done it, I’ve stopped the Metacrisis.’ Donna: ‘Thank you, Doctor. Now I am free to roam this universe.’ The Toymaker: ‘Not if I have anything to say about it! And I do! I’m gonna say the n-word!’

The Toymaker also appears a couple of stories in the anthology book Tales of Terror. In the book's first story the First Doctor, Steven, and Dodo arrive at a house during a Halloween Party where they find themselves playing dangerous games, eventually realizing their host is the Toymaker and escaping. In the book's sixth story, the Sixth Doctor finds himself returning to this house where he is confronted by the Toymaker who claims that all the adventures that the Doctor has had since he last came to the house were all of his creation and that the Doctor has been marching to his tune all this time. He even goes as far as citing the dodgy special effects in several of the stories as proof that these adventures were nothing more than fabrications.

great video. very informative. I'm going to go back and listen to those audio books, I've got most of them, and track down the paper books. thanks for doing a very well thought out explanation of the toymaker

I like the idea that the toymaker is the black guardian as the BG was all about games. 😎

Toymaker really reminds the Wizard of Oz only more deadly than he may be from a different dimension or time before the creation of our galaxy or perhaps outside time in another 5 dimension a shadowy realm of uncanny toys and machines to cause chaos in our galaxy, but I recall a different story about his origins it was thought he was a time lord from another universe with vastly more control of time and space he could literally move time around with a thought at will and didn't need a tardis either, but the time lord and White Guardian knew how dangerous he was to our galaxy so they tried to trap him inside a prison tardis a tardis with escape or so was believed his powers managed to change this prison tardis into a universe a pocket universe as it would become? But years of being trapped inside cause his mind to create games and dangerous creatures and even ways to leave for brief moments via telepathy and control others on worlds. Toymaker has really escaped, or is this another ploy an android he used these as well?

What music is playing the background at 1:20? I heard it in a YTP of the sound drums a few months ago and haven't been able to find out what it is lol

All im worried about is if sir ruffles tootsie daisy decides to completely muck up the past "continuity" of the character. Considering the writers have destroyed galifrey twice their are no more timelords wandering about, and OH lets not forget that he gave The Doctor a clone/daughter and then didnt give a crap about it. So i have absolutly no hope for the new series. I really really hope the new actor; slappy googoo does a good job and they get a decent writer.

And none of this beyond the first doctor story is canon in the new episode, with it being said this is the first time the doctor has met him since the first

@jetfire931 Жыл бұрын
If I remember correctly, he did say something about "making a jigsaw of the doctor's life" (along those lines) so they could still be canon.

Where have you heard that Neil Patrick Harrison's character is 100% the Celestial Toymaker? I have not seen any official confirmation anywhere, it's all heavy speculation at this point!

I was loving all of the backgrounds and music cues matching the doctors time eras from the various media until you got to the 12th doctors involvement and I started hearing Murray Gold music with the next track what's the fifth doctor and crew from season 19 . It was very jarring. This is one of the best researched and presented videos on any Doctor Who history I have seen and not for the faint of heart or the casual viewer. I may come back and edit this removing my criticism about the music queue but as of right now I feel like it ruined the video because that was really vibing.
@gallopingsausage
@gallopingsausage Жыл бұрын
I was going to use matching music for the whole video, but tbh it was taking way too long to find songs that I liked, so I gave up. At the end of the day, it's just music so I don't see how it ruined the video, and I think it would've been more annoying if the song was changing every few minutes. Still, I'll keep this in mind for the next video. Thanks for the feedback.

@@gallopingsausage The name was used in reference to the status of the Emperor of China as the Son of Heaven in the Sinosphere. Accordingly, in the 19th century, the name "Celestial" was used to refer to Chinese emigrants to the United States, Canada, and Australia.
