Baines's actor portrayed that character well -- unblinking, yet crazy-eyed, and the unnatural head movements and neck-stretches well bespoke an alien entity just getting used to its new body.

I wish the writers would bring back Harry Lloyd to reprise his role as Baines! Can you imagine what a great revenge story we could get out of the character's return?!!! Baines is one of the few human-like villains that gives the Master/Missy a run for their money. He's cunning, methodic, and ruthless with great suave and Harry Lloyd brings out the best in those qualities as a villain!

I would love that! I mean, there are several very impactful one-off villains from Russel's era. Besides obviously Baines, we also have people like The Editor, and there are more as well. Plus, most of them are fairly easy to bring back. I'm sure there would be a way for someone to release just Baines from his prison, and he will go on a mission to save the other members of the Family but also the punish the Doctor for what he did. I doubt the writers will do it, but there is always a chance.
