Tom Baker, Elisabeth Sladen, and Ian Marter ... The Doctor Who "Dream Team!" ❤️ We will NEVER see the likes of them again! So sad that Ian is no longer with us, and like many fans, I was devastated when our beloved "Sarah Jane" died! 😭❤️

I have been looking for Harry Sullivan at the conventions, I didn't realise he had died. Next to the Doctor he was my all time favourite character alongside the Brigadier.

A rare find. I loved Harry, Sarah and the Dr together. Lovely trio. Wished they had been together for longer. Thanks.

Agreed. HARRY SULLIVAN IS AN IMBECILE!!! Meant in the nicest possible way of course. Tom, Lis, and Ian were the best team ever in my opinion. They were all very adult and didn't dumb down for the kids

Many years ago I received a hand written message on a 'bbc' autograph photo from him. A very warm man and in many respects very underrated. I have read Ian's Dr Who novels, and can say they rate as good as any of them. RIP Ian.

Never noticed before but he looks like Patrick MacNee's son. Good guy, Ian.

Early days of the conventions. I'm glad Ian got to enjoy the adoration of American Whovians in person.

Loved Ian. He was my favourite companion. I always wondered why he didn't stay for longer? The chemistry worked so well. Very sad that he couldn't get a job after Dr Who in acting.
@WildcardASMR2 жыл бұрын
Supposedly he was only there with Sarah and the Doctor to serve as a ‘man of action’. As Tom proved more than capable of being a useful asset for all character formulas (other than the witty and helpful young woman), Ian’s role was filled.

He died on his birthday. Very sad. So young.

How awful, for a person to die on their birthday, a day that is supposed to be happy? ... Harry Sullivan was a wonderful character, and the chemistry between the three of them, was a joy to behold! ... Fortunately, Ian Marter will go on to delight fans old and new for many years to come! God Bless him! ❤️

wonderful fellow, got to meet him briefly at a sci fi convention in Philadelphia back in the 80s this is especially nostalgic because my father worked for WHYY channel 12 in Philadelphia for many years

I loved the Harry character and I was really sorry when he left Doctor Who in the android invasion and never came back I nearly met Ian Marter at a convention in 1986 but he had to drop out of the schedule and sadly Ian Marter died shortly after and he was IMO both awesome as an actor and as a writer I have a hunch if Jon Pertwee had stayed on as the Doctor beyond season 11 and had been the Doctor for seasons 12 and 13 then Harry would not have appeared as a companion is my belief

I think if Jon Pertwee had been the Doctor for another season or 2 it is possible Ian Marter Harry might never have been in Dr Who and also it would have been a big shame in billions of ways and Harry was an awesome companion a shame he did not stay longer.
