Funny you should call out the accuracy of Dec 25th marking the birth of Christ. I just did some reading on that. The romans didn't keep lot of birth records. There's no record of Christ's birth date. Dec 25th was a day calculated by the early church (we're talking first century just after Christ's death, resurrection and ascension.) The date was reached based on a lot of symbolism regarding the winter solstice and the summer solstice in relation to the lives of Jesus and John the Baptist. Some sources say it had to do with an idea that He was conceived during Passover and tacking 9 months on past that gives youthe Winter solstice. So it not a lie but more of a best guess based on limited info.
