The logos are, for the most part, are a slow progression of change and are all products of the techniques that were used to create them. I would like to point out that the newest logo is just a color changed version of the later 3rd and 4th Doctors diamond logo...IOW, just pointing out that there isn't that much difference between them so not sure how one is that much better than the other.

While they are pretty much identical they are slightly different in design with letter spacing and overall tweaks that make it more pleasing to the eye as a graphic designer myself these are the reason why I think it's perfect but can totally understand why it seems odd in my ranking 😂

My favourite logo is the 13th Doctor one. I think that’s the most unique looking one we’ve had and it felt alien in its design which I think connects to the show very well
