For some reason it's sad... Maybe because Nicholas, who played as Brigadier isn't around anymore?

This is remarkable. Removed from the visuals and story, this soundtrack reveals itself to be a mix of electronica, pop and soft rock. There's a sense of early prog rock like Yes, King Crimson and Eno, and yet it's tied with Davison era Dr Who. Amazing.

Eerie music. This episode creeped me out as a kid.

GOD, this is so good. I still remember when this aired, and the music was indescribably good. That whole era had fantastic music.

This stuff takes New Romantics into Progressive Electronica. Hard to say which of Kingsland's WHO compositions is my favourite. This one is like a cross between State Of Decay & Full Circle with some awesome 'upgrades' conceived in the intervening 24 months. I absolutely love the analogue synths he utilised - does anyone know which actual keyboards Paddy favoured? Roland Juno/Jupiter 4/8 or Korg?? BTW... if you're listening to this in 2023 you're fabulously awesome!!

I love the music from this story, especially from 34:16. Reminds me of the Brigadier with great warmth and affection.

Interesting - the same 4 note 'Black Guardian's motiff' at 5:33 is also used for the Dr Smith's motiff on the re-imagined 'Lost In Space'....
