Apparently Matt Smith's favourite jacket before he became the Doctor was a tweed jacket he'd wear all the time, which was why he wanted one as part of his costume. But he said he kind of regretted it because he could no longer wear his favourite jacket in public anymore because everyone would think he was dressed as the Doctor. XD

So nice to see Chris interacting with the fans the way he did here. I read he didn't enjoy the politics behind the running of Doctor Who, but he absolutely loved playing the Doctor - and he WAS "fantastic".

I applaud the patience of these often really older men (and I am hurtling through my 50s even now) trying to recall and appreciate fans of their work many decades ago. Even Sylvester's time of the show now feels like it was watched by a different person. Biologically you could suggest it was. There's something for the Doctor to answer. And whatever he/she takes, they will still be my childhood hero.

Every Doctor we've met has been fantastic! We recently met Matt Smith at Liverpool Con, he signed our sons Fez free of charge. ❤️❤️

well said - sure there are fees for photos and they must get some incentive to show up - but how much can it really be? In the end, they are there because they want to honor the hopes/dreams of the devoted fans. God bless them. Everyone ought have a chance to meet their heroes.

Brilliant I remember seeing yas on both days I was Dressed as Captain Jack Harkness on the Saturday I saw yas in the queue for christopher eccleston Then I was Michael Myers on the Sunday the same Michael Myers u met at Carlisle comic con

This was adorable! 🥹 Especially Robin’s interaction with Eccleston, I had a brief 5 minute conversation with him a few years back (Eccleston) and he didn’t need to do that, since he was walking from one place to next, but he was incredibly kind and thankful to hear he was one of my first Doctors.

Christopher Eccleston is also Robin's first doctor. This was a perfect interaction and again when we had the photo. So far, everyone we've met at Con have been amazing with our son! Eve Myles ( Gwen for Torchwood ) tried to steal him 😁

Oh, I’d love to meet Eve Myles! I had a sense Eccleston was his first Doctor, that’s going to be a memory he’ll have for the rest of his life and, honestly, moments like that are what conventions are all about.

I used to be quite shy at conventions, not know what to say or how to approach people. Attending the smaller conventions really help me find my confidence.

@@familygeekuk thanks! It was WHOOVERVILLE 13 in Derby, it was a pretty quiet convention that year. But this year my favourite doctor and companions are gonna be there. (Sylvester McCoy and Sophie Aldred)

Did not expect Eccleston to be at a convention like this, I always thought he kina blew it off after he left the show. Well the same can be said about Colin Baker too but he embraces his fans too. I got giddy seeing Sylvester McCoy he was my favorite from the OG series.
