This is incredibly impressive. Feels very Troughton to me and I love it! This feels just like an episode of classic Who AND it's so original and fresh!

That was just a very bit brilliant, loved it. It had that 60's vibe with the shadows and high contrasting B&W. The performances were enjoyable as everyone was doing their own thing not a pale impersonation. Loved the theme and the music. I got a kick out of this more so that the hightech bbc stuff and have been watching since the very late 60's. Well done to all 👍

Weird, quirky, mysterious, and suspenseful. Just like classic Doctor Who. I was pulled in and hooked right from the beginning.

Troughton is my favourite Dr (although I grew up with the Pertwee era ). I do like the Big Finish productions too. I think this is a fantastic tribute to the golden age of Dr. Who...I hope you guys do more classic Who

Overall very impressive! Extremely nice the original audio drama script was provided and BBC gave their blessings. Having filmed a lot of things and very little actually being completed to my satisfaction, I must say I'm very happy for you that you persevered over that ten year journey and delivered a quality film. 😎

This may be the best fan Who film I've seen. Great work in the acting, cinematography and the writing.

First of all, I apologise if there are any grammatical errors or anything like that, but I feel obliged to overcome the language barrier (I'm Brazilian) to congratulate you, everyone involved. I usually watch everything with "Doctor Who" in the title, and honestly... I see terrible things most of the time, but "Doctor Who: Resistance" is different, possibly the best fan film I've seen in years! I loved the premise, I loved the Doctor and I'm looking forward to the new episodes

Very impressive work. How did it come about that this was "made with permission from BBC Worldwide, AudioGo, Big Finish Productions and Steve Lyons"?

We just asked them. I was in third year university at the time, and asked if we could produce this as a semester break project for Screen Production/Theatre & Drama students.

Hullo from Queensland! First of all, nice work on the title sequence; can I ask how you managed that? Remake the original sequence or re-edit? Watching so far and it's a tough ask for anyone to emulate Patrick Troughton's role, but you're doing a great job so far. Going to watch the rest and recommend to friends!
@avfilmmaker9 ай бұрын
Hello! The title sequence was re-edited from 'test footage' on The Tomb of the Cybermen DVD. The material doesn't quite match up to what was eventually seen on screen but it was close enough for what we needed. And yes, it was a tall order for Stephen who plays the Doctor, but I think he did a good job getting the tone of the Second Doctor character. We've got a little Making Of also on our channel where he talks about it, and a Commentary coming out next week too.

@@avfilmmaker Awesome! I look forward to seeing both! It's a good time to be a Whovian! And another BTS question: where'd you get the TARDIS prop?
@avfilmmaker9 ай бұрын
@@Solas67 I built it about six years before we shot this. It wasn't exactly accurate to this era and got completely rained out by the end of shooting. We had to rebuild for the premiere, but it meant it was slightly better looking for the event.
@Solas679 ай бұрын
@@avfilmmaker very cool! And I know what you mean....having watched a few videos about the prop, the slightest variations will get called out by people. Fortunately, I just go 'The TARDIS!' and am happy. :D I've been curious about them....I take it there's a template you can follow and the like?

Great stuff. This is better than 90% of what the Beeb has produced over the last few years; I can't wait to see the rest. Like the original run of The Second Doctor, it has a few quirks, i.e., Stephen Platt would make a very passable Frazer Hines, and Braden Scott had the most antipodean cockney accent I've heard since I lived in the UK... love it!
