I do find it odd how (seemingly) revered devious and a bunch of the other wildness year fan films are whilst current fan films are only ever mentioned within the confines of the fan films comment sections. I guess the only difference is that the wildness years folks were able to rope in actual cast members from doctor who proper

Here's one, in the mid 80's, three issues of the Korean comic magazine "Treasure Island" featured Doctor Who stories, starring the Fourth Doctor and his companion Joy. Of course these were completely unlicensed so we'll never see any kind of official release, unless you fancy tracking down decades old Korean magazines, but you can find some of the pages online (still in Korean), and these things are wild, the TARDIS has fins and flies like a rocket, and does battle with a Nazi tank and a British pirate ship... in space!

"South Korea didn't really go for Doctor Who much in the 20th century, but this little titbit has recently emerged. It turns out that Korean readers had their own, short-lived, probably unlicensed version of Doctor Who as a comicbook release. Treasure Island was a Korean manwha (cartoon format) publication which released hefty 400-page volumes from 1982 to 1992, and included various reprints and licensed materials as well as original creations. Quite how they managed to create their own version of Doctor Who is uncertain, and there doesn't seem to be any evidence that they acquired a licence to do so, although broadwcast suggests they might have cribbed some material from Marvel reprints and worked from that. Certainly, there's a very clear influence of Tom Baker's fourth Doctor on the manwha Doctor, who wears a clear variant on his costume. These were released in early 1984, when the fifth Doctor's time was coming to a close and the sixth was making his debut, but Tom Baker's image would still have been the most commonly seen around the world. Indeed, his was still the face most people thought of when imagining the Doctor until Tennant and Smith assured the domination of the modern series in younger viewers' minds. It's an idiosyncratic take on Doctor Who, with the Doctor (from the planet Black) and his companion Joy travelling the universe in a TARDIS that appears to be a rocketship. The only story for which there's any detail so far is "Fugitives," which saw the Doctor fight Nazis and pirates for the entertainment of avian aliens. The article's writer says that's the sort of thing only a manwha book would include, but I can easily imagine it turning up in an early Doctor Who Weekly or Monthly comic strip. If your Korean's up to scratch, you can read some of the adventure here: blog.naver.com/PostView.nhn?blogId=mice3nyc&logNo=90029163305&parentCategoryNo=4&viewDate=&currentPage=1&listtype=0"

nice vid! i've got one too. let me talk you about the lost spanish dub. I am a whovian from Mexico, and a while ago I learnt that the First and Fourth Doctor's era made it to hispanic countries in the late 70's. these episodes were dubbed (except some of the Fourth's which according to some accounts are just badly recorded voiceover) and broadcast in countries like Mexico, Chile and Costa Rica. but sadly, there's no audiovisual evidence of them, except an episode from the Web Planet, a transcript from the Android Invasion and a two second clip of the show's intro, which by the way is presented as "Doctor Misterio". the search for this material has been particularly infuriating for me due to the scarcity of reliable information. even the voice actor of the fourth Doctor that appears credited in the dubbing wiki was asked about it and does not remember doing such work, some colleagues asked friends and family and little of them have very vague memories from it airing, but no one has it on audio or video record. so I am currently desperate trying to find any trace of it lol. but every time to time spanish lost media resurface on the web and it gives me a little hope, even if we're not a big community. if anyone reading this has anything related to the lost dub, please let me know. on another hand, that one final entry on Sarah Jane's feelings towards the Doctor is rather... interesting. specially considering that one scene in The Giggle where the Doctor remarked how much he LOVED her, talking about her with the same level of affection he had for Rose. btw in latin spanish it was translated with the verb "amar" which is often used for romantic love, rather than "querer", which is more platonic. so yeah, that happened.

Minor gripe, but the Doctor pictured in the "Seven Keys to Doomsday" entry is Trevor Martin, who played him in UK performances. Michael Sagar played him in the New Zealand version. Martin's Doctor had the long hair and the fancy outfit, Sagar's Doctor had a moustache and a checkered-suit.

I've got one which is rather interesting and quite obscure.. I fondly remember watching Nickelodeon UK, broadcasting their own version of the Kids Choice Awards between 2007 - 08. Doctor Who was one of the four nominees for the best TV show category in both years. Doctor Who didn't win and the winning category went to Drake & Josh on both occasions. In 2008 there was a new category dedicating to Favourite TV baddie, & the Daleks were one of the nominees. I remember two other nominees, Simon Cowell & Plankton. Unfortunately I don't remember the fourth nominee. Simon Cowell wins the category and they re-use footage of Simon accepting the award for the X Factor one year prior as he didn't attend both events in person. To make up for his second absence, within a few seconds in for accepting the TV baddie award in the re-used footage, he gets exterminated by a Dalek, showing his 'supposed' skeleton. The Dalek would then appear at the stage left expressing it's anger & disappointment in loosing the category. The Dalek would then give punishment to the front audience by activating 'Dalek Slime', the typical Nickelodeon green slime. Afterwards the Dalek would descend back down behind the logo and the camera would then go back to the host Danni Minogue. The Dalek clip was on KZbin I believe for at least a number of years until it was taken down. I tried to look for the footage, but it isn't anywhere to be found except a image of the Dalek on stage by the choice awards logo on Google images. Other than that I consider this to be lost media.

Also, if I had to mention one missing piece of media, it's the ending of series 1 they showed to the press. You see, the BBC wanted to hide the fact that Eccleston was going to regenerate and filmed a version in which the series ended with Rose dying and this was reportedly shown to the press, but never broadcast, because it was mainly a fake ending to hide the fact that Eccleston wouldn't be returning and to get a genuine surprise upon broadcast.

Do you have any more information on the Elizabeth Sladen thing from the end? I know you said this was relayed to you by someone (and, of course, it could be not true), but do you know if it would have been an entirely new episode or a scene that would have been in one of the episodes from that series? According to Roberta Tovey, who played Susan in the Dr. Who and the Daleks movie, The Keys of Marinus was also considered as a third Who movie, as well as The Chase. She said this on the DVD commentary. There are also a whole, ongoing, series of Cushing Dr. novels, vased on the fictional premise that this became a long running movie franchise. Fantastic video and very interesting stuff. I knew a lot of this but not all. I do have some other knowledge on lost media with "Doctor Who" and things to do with it. Mostly speculation and rumors for one of them but it is interesting; 1. There was a canceled 2nd Doctor story called "Prison in Space" by Dick Sharples. It was made eventually by Big Finish and released in their "Doctor Who; The Lost Stories; The Second Doctor" boxset. I've heard from speculation that pre-production was done on the story, with the guard costumes from "The War Games" being ones that were made originally for "Prison in Space". 2. "Midnight" from series 4 of the revived era of the show was originally going to be a cross-over between the show and "Most Haunted", but never happened. Again, Big Finish came to the rescue and the 10th Doctor audio; "No Place" is a re-working of this un-made series 4 story. 3. The cover artwork for the Virgin New Adventure "Sleepy" apparently references an un-made entry in the range involving a virus. (and for the big one); 4. In the early 2000s when there was still no "Doctor Who" on TV ran both Big Finish audios and various novels by BBC books, with the latter being released as the Eighth Doctor Adventures and the Past Doctor Adventures line of books - commonly shortened to EDAs and PDAs -. Whenever Russel T Davis revived the show some books from these ranges were still published for a short while, with them ultimately coming to an end in 2006. The last BBC novel to feature the Eighth Doctor was called "Fear Itself", but is considered a PDA and not an EDA because Christopher Ecclestone had made his debut by this point. The final book to be published from either range in 2006 was called "Atom Bomb Blues" and featured the seventh Doctor, however this was originally not meant to be. I don't know what the ideas were but the BBC did have some to continue the range after this book but ultimately canceled the PDAs in favor for the new range of novels based on the revived series.

Also, Devious is currently on it's third episode, which features a small cameo from Second Doctor impressionist Chris Walken-Thomson. I guess it's an advantage of taking so long to edit, as Chris wasn't around when the project first started.

Another good one is the 1906 French novel Doctor Omega, which has many similarities with the First Doctor version of the show, which was of course still over half a century away from its first appearance. It's unlikely it influenced it in any way though, as the book wasn't translated into English untill the 2000's, and it's been suggrested that the translater may have embellished the story somewhat, so as to exaggerate the similarities. Still, if you wish to produce your own Doctor Who story, as a novel, film, audio drama, whatever, but know your idea would never be licensed by the BBC, you're free to use Doctor Omega and his companions instead, as they're long out of copyright.

I legit didn't wanna do this cos the iceberg video trend is the most fucking boring thing ever, but here we are... and before anyone says otherwise, I'm gonna correct the FACTS, not the FEELS. Mainly pointing out incorrect information. Level 1: - the John Barrowman drama is the dumbest shit ever, and I'd be surprised if it doesn't turn up at somepoint. - Season 23 was the one that got put on hiatus, not season 26. - the first point of the missing episodes was basically what everyone and their gran knows (which I can excuse for this being level 1). However, its such a widely known thing that its not even worth putting on the list! But hey, no fan theories yet, so there's that. Also way to go for not explaining the original 1963-1967 titles only exist in HD now cos a film collector had the original titles film insert. GG Level 2: - Weird. I thought it was confirmed they'd adapt the chase with Mechons and such. - NO FAN THEORIES! For god's sake, I just praised you for not falling into that cliche! No shit you're rambling...! - The entire production of The Destroyers is a mystery. You want actual research done on this? Check out Terry Nation Army, a multi-part series by the guys from Dalek 6388. - Okay, this is something we gotta talk about. Timeline Whiplash. (perhaps you could say a Timelash...? il see myself out) For crying out loud, organize these things a little better. I'm getting head trauma being pulled back and forth through the years with mediocre research. Now, the scene from Terror of the Zygons wasn't cut for grading issues. It was actually cut because the time of day changed during filming the various scenes involving the invisible TARDIS. That's not really grading, that's just lighting issues. Did you even watch the episode with Info Text on? NO, IT WAS PARTIALLY COLOURISED! Most of the original film insert was already in colour! - interesting point on Robot of Sherwood. Except that technically it was officially released (ONLY TECHNICALLY), and at the time was very easy to access. But this doesn't make it a lost media thing because it still fucking exists, albiet in black and white only. - from what I gathered on my own research and listening to DVD stuff, the alternate ending to Journey's End was part of a scene that technically was never finished, as rewrites were done. As well as the thing you mentioned; TONE. - I like how you just took the Season 27 concepts from the Survival DVD and stuck em here. Classy. This scene sums the issue up: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nWPdgZmIgLaegck Also, considering these were recycled and adapted post-cancellation, these aren't really lost media either... - Wait, what? You don't just skim over something like Totally Doctor Who and Doctor Who Confidential being officially unreleased in their original form! Oh, and the level's over. I fear it only gets worse from here... Lost Media Iceberg? More like the Poor Research Iceberg, AHAHAHA! Level 3: - Actually, those reboot ideas stemmed from the talks about a Doctor Who movie... we all know how that went. And the movie was a backdoor pilot, so pretty much yeah. It wasn't that good though. BREAK: I'm shocked I'm the only guy who disliked this... Level 5 - Not even a transition from the Doctor Who spinoffs to Devious! What the fuck is this editing?!? Like seriously! - Wait, that was level 5? JUST TWO FUCKING ENTRIES? Level 6 - I like how it's not even mentioned that Terry Molloy was there as Davros. - Oh wow, again, you can find better information on the Out Of The Unknown daleks cameo on Dalek 6388's Terry Nation Army. Nice copying of information. - Planet of Giants SHOOTING script, not film script...! Okay, I give up. Sorry, I just can't take much more of this! Hope SOME of this was useful to you. Take care and good day.
