Something clever that I only now notice, Rory was a janitor for the museum. He could've taken the box anywhere else, but he chose a public area that is constantly watched and guarded, that often has "no cellphone or flash photography" signs so it stays a quiet place. No cellphones mean no radio signals, something the doctor warned him about. He also was a janitor, something so unimportant you don't bat an eye at them when they pass. Talk about an outstanding move

This is actually a defining character moment for rory, we see with Ashildr. Most people cant ever handle near eternity. Ashildr forgot all that she was and became a monster. But rory? All for amy, he remained sane and wholly unchanged.

After all, when he sent Rory into the Cyberman ship to demand information about Amy, while raising hell in the process, Rory was dressed as _The Last Centurion._ _The Last Centurion_ had become a timeless legend, much like the Doctor.

I wish they'd put more development into Rory's character. I mean, the guy actually LIVED for 2,000 years, and yet he hasn't changed AT ALL, and was the same nervous casual Rory from 5x01. It's not a bad thing, it's kinda adorable, but meh, it would've been cool if they showed us more of badass-ancient-Rory. I mean, they did this with the transformation of Amy in ''The Girl who waited'', and they also did it with Ashildr... (Maybe it was different with Rory since the Doctor erased everything with the Big Bang Two, but come on, both Rory and Amy remembered ALL of their timelines. This moment shows just how strong 💪🏻 Rory’s love for Amy is and how he has always loved her more. She complains about having to wait 36 years for Rory to come back to her but even then she wasn’t as loyal to him, however Rory waited almost 2000 years for her while she was inside a box, protecting her from harm and staying with her always. He even travels across the galaxy to recruit the Doctors allies who owe him a favour even having the balls to stand up to the Cybermen while the Doctor blows up an entire cyber fleet/Armada all without breaking a sweat just to get his wife and child back. If that isn’t love and commitment then idk what is xx

She was VERY loyal to him. She wasn’t upset at Rory, she was upset at the Doctor for putting them in that position in the first place by making a heartless call- he was still operating from an overly calculated place after losing Donna and Rose, and also frankly watching River “die” with her harrowing reveal before knowing how they would overcome that timeline issue. The Doctor was removing himself from his heart when making decisions, Amy’s shrillness and even her haggard old age was an external reflection of how curmudgeonly the Doctor had become when you put aside his whimsy and apparent external youthfulness. He had become a bahumbug like miser in some ways, trying to “save” people but not getting as emotionally attached while he does so anymore. To be fair, he had to deal with Pompeii and a lot of really harrowing moments with Donna, even before losing her too. But this is why River reminds him he’s supposed to be a healer, not a war-monger. Amy was never disloyal to Rory, she feared he wouldn’t love her anymore because of how old she had gotten, and, she was justifiably pissed the eff off at the Doctor at the time.

Bizarre Joe - I thought the letter to Brian was a cut scene, so it's possible none of what the Doctor read in the book was true. River Song told Amy to lie to the Doctor, "don't let him see you're hurt", so she may have been lying to help him.
