Well, again, anyway. There was his original family, back on Gallifrey, then his daughter Jenny, he did technically marry Marilyn Monroe AND Queen Elizabeth. God, The Doctors family tree is really bloody confusing. Only people with a complicated family tree close to it are Snow White and Regina from Once Upon a Time, Regina being Snow's stepmother but also the stepmother of Snow's grandson, making her grandson her stepbrother, which would make her own daughter her mother by proxy and.... Okay, no. My head hurts now. Once Upon a Time's Snow White has a WAY more complicated and confusing family tree than The Doctor.

Probably the first time in centuries he's actually sat down for Christmas dinner with the people he loves. All that traveling and running, and fighting. This is probably the most normal and wholesome thing he's done in a long time and you can see it on his face. The closest he'll come to having a real family again.

This ending is so special...the new doctors “fam” is absolutely nothing, nothing compared to this...this right here is pure raw love and what family looks like, the doctors face when he was hugging Amy was the look of love and of course when he realised they had already had a plate set for him I think that was what produced tears, in all that happened in the wedding of river song they always knew he would come back to them, especially at Christmas, this is a beautiful moment and only makes the ending of the angels take Manhattan even more brutal...

One of, if not my most favorite era of Doctor Who. Wasn't perfect, but moments like this helped it rank high on my list. The Ponds were my favorite companions and-maybe cause I'm a sentimental idiot-that might be because I just love wholesome family/friendship stuff.

This is something I think is lacking in the show nowadays 0:42-1:17, moments where you feel these are people who know each other and have history instead of being just character walking through a plot. And if not this, just look at the Doctor and Jamie or the Doctor and Ace.

I love this scene so much... Especially taking the later episode from 12's run, Listen. In that episode we found out that The Doctor never really had a "family" and was made to sleep in the shed, because they thought he "would never be a Time Lord." This scene really hits home because for the first time in his life, he knows what it truly means to be part of a family.

The way he's hesitant at going in, as if he can't believe that he means so much to these people and he's influenced their lives so much in such a positive way, even after everything that's happened, they love him. It's like he's waiting for it to break, or he doesn't want to mess things up by stepping into the house and something goes wrong.

to me it always seemed like this moment not only hit the doctor as "i have a family", its a mix feeling of the sense of Christmas with family and friends, Matt smith also deliver a moment of "why didn't i come earlier" or "i was wrong about taking a step back" and from the eyes of a time traveler who consistently run away from everything the feeling of "its ok to just sit and enjoy this moment HERE"

Absolutely one of my favorite scenes on the entire Who series. The refusing to hug first; the Tardis blue of the door; and the fact that the Ponds set a place at the dinner table for him each year...this was a family who loved one another dearly. This is why the Doctor/Ponds run is favorite in the Dargan Household, and also why "Angels in Manhattan" is one of my favorite episodes, because Amy's monologue at the end and that smile at the sound of the Tardis said it all.

Jodie is a terrible doctor (no offense to jodie or anything)
@andrewlocke96745 жыл бұрын
@@otakushutin It isn't that she is a bad actor, she just has a terrible writer. If RTD was still writing, or Moffat was still here, she would be better. You have a problem with the writer, don't scapegoat the actor. Besides, she kept the dress sense of the doctor intact.
@SilkfireStudios5 жыл бұрын
Aydan Cooper imo she’s good, she’s no 10 or 11 but she’s good she just has a bad season, but Peter capaldi had a weak season and his finale is one of the best two parters with both masters and Cybermen.
@angrywizard31995 жыл бұрын
@@andrewlocke9674 I really like Jodie's Doctor, but the largest flaw is the writing and the lack of huge, coherent overarching story. From day 1 of Matt we were wondering what the crack in the wall was, with 9th we had Bad Wolf (though that came later), etc, etc. I feel like a cool thing to play with for Jodie is that she's a free Doctor. She knows she didn't kill gallifrey, but since she's free, she doesn't know what to do. In the setup for tea at Yaz', she looks lonely and sad because she has nothing to do. She's free, but also bored.
@peterludwig45995 жыл бұрын
@@otakushutin Jodie is only terrible because she is forced to carry out the propaganda and political views of BBC. With good scripts, some character development and logical build up the series can be saved. BBC can still bring in propaganda and political views, but as undertones and not as main focus. It works for Discovery, well most of the time as it did in the last two seasons of Capaldi.
