Yup, fatally wounded the show right there and then. Instead of fixing it, RTD went with it and used it as an excuse to rip the show to shreds even more.

Been ranting since Chibnall's era, I'm all out of rants, I just can't be arsed about it anymore. If someone did a convincing AI of Capaldi's Doctor refusing to regenerate and dying alone in the TARDIS I'd be fine to draw a line under the whole show there. It would be a shame, but nothing since, Chibnall or RTD2, has been good Doctor Who and I can't see that there's going to be any in the future.

We have been watching all Who from 2005 until Capaldi changed into Doctor Karen hence why RT D thinks many people are streaming but not his rubbish now. I am actually a bit heart broken but unlike Ncuti I will not cry.

Great show. Many thanks, Brendan and Cybermat Strikes. Surely there must be people at Bad Wolf and the BBC watching shows such as yours in order to gauge fan feeling and to ascertain what might be done to restore our faith in the show. But I thought the BBC would have been watching and listening over the course of the Chibnall era and taken corrective steps then as well. This time around, though, the difference is the fatter wads of money that are involved. How well has the inclusion of the Shalka Doctor been received? Has the treatment of Sutekh been broadly celebrated? Is Ncuti's Doctor universally loved? I agree, Brendan, the thrust of the current show seems to have been to please the production team, to do fun things that amuse them, not the audience. Boom was a writing exercise for Steven Moffat, trying to do something new and different, rather than aiming to entertain the audience watching at home. How far does the show have to sink, and the viewing numbers diminish, before the people signing the cheques stop and think that maybe they should listen to the customer feedback and start doing things to please them instead?

I honestly cannot believe we have come to this. I really did not think I would feel this negative about my favourite show and I did not think I would end up so critical of RTD. Who has done this? Not me. RTD’s hubris has done this

I think the BBC is infested with people who agree with RTD. Really need to get rid of the licence fee but less likely now.

Sorry for so many comments but on this occasion I am seeking assistance. I am hoping someone will remember the massive DW fan that used to manage the ABC shop in Eastlands Tasmania. He was brillint and did bucket loads to promote the show. I think is name was Mark. I would love to catch up with him and shed a tear over what has happened? With the Shalka Doctor event, the Mrs. Flood may never be revealed, and no resolutions to narratives required etc, I am convinced RTD simply wants to poke a stick and agitate as many people as he can. He borderlines on narcassistic now. RTD cares about RTD and little else. I am now looking back and thinking he was never actually quite as good as we thought he was. If I think about it I realse he was and is an effective soap opera writer NOT scifi.

The only clip from Doctor Who-2005-2024- i like is that of the Master as Rasputin dancing to Boney M, classic hit. the best Battle Scene in classic Doctor Who is when the Sea Devils attacked the Navy Base in the Jon Pertwee's story-The Sea Devils, with Roger Delgado as the Master, the best Master to Date.

David Burton was photographed with the car and Dr Who magazine did about 2 paragraphs on it. It was Paul Bernard who directed 3 Pertwee stories that apparently shot a few minutes of footage with Burton. However i've never seen said footage anywhere, it may well have been a publicity stunt. Excellent discussion Brendan & Cybermatstrikes 👍 It's migraine inducing to try and wade through the minefield that Chibnall and RTD have left in their wake! The best thing we can hope for is that Dr Who gets cancelled after series 2 of shooty, and it doesn't come back for at least 5 years. The worry in doing that of course is that there might not be an audience for it because so many fans - of all ages have walked away. A great battle sequence: UNIT vs the prisoners in Mind of Evil. I know Warriors of the Deep is not a fan-favourite (far from it) but I do think Peter Davison is brilliant in this story. Everyone thinks number 5 was always mellow and calm. That is far from true. When Peter was required to he gave a huge impactful performance full of emotional turmoil. He showed genuine pain and anguish. He reallly could delievered. Why is it when ever I write something it almost simultaneously then gets mentioned in the video. I should sit, wait and be patient. But I'm ageing and risk forgetting my thoughts. Maybe that reveals we all are on the same page. Yes it was overlit. This channel remains the best DW alongside Rachel's when she does DW. A favourite Davison Doctor quote: The Doctor: When did you last have the pleasure of smelling a flower, watching a sunset, eating a well-prepared meal? Cyberleader: These things are irrelevant. The Doctor: For some people, small, beautiful events are what life is all about! A beautiful last line.

Further to the comments made in SFX here - Today I saw new BBC Book 'I Tardis' in Waterstones, and after some hesitation decided I deserved to treat myself. So this is a fairly typical BBC Doctor Who book that is written for kids with short attention spans, and is taking the form of commentary from the Tardis on her many landings and experiences. I flipped through and p128 caught my eye with a Frontios entry - "I drift into the future, exceeding my parameters, and am dragged down to Frontios. Tractators manipulate mavity so hard that it triggers spatial distribution circuits - but my pieces are snatched underground before they can reassemble." You see that word used there by writer Steve Cole? There's no reason at all for this word to be (mis)used here. It's a book that is a listing essentially of places the Tardis has visited, narrated by the Tardis her-itself, and yet here you see the rather disturbing proof of what Davies was saying about how extensive his influence is on everything else going on in the Doctor Who media landscape... 'Mavity'. I have come to despise the word, and its significance.

UNIT has been made a laughing stock of unbelievability by Davis and Moffat. Two writers who couldn't include realistic drama into their writing to save their lives. Kate Stewart? A joke, those positions are earned not inherited. Osgood? again an inherited role... ludicrous. Kids in UNIT? Laughable. These so called writers are talentless hacks. What we need is real writers. People who can write believable situations that operate on logical themes, rather than the pantie-wetting fan fiction these smucks are delivering. I wish it had never returned. These limp excuses for storytellers have soured everything they've touched.
