Agree agree. But maybe do it out of order, like most fans of the classic series - we all watched it on repeats, in random order. I could even recommend going backwards via companions, starting with Ace, then Mel, then Peri, then … I think the Adric-Tegan-Nyssa-Turlough group. But I would recommend skipping the lower ranked episodes, and only watching the restored editions (Blu-ray mostly). So that means, begin with Remembrance of the Daleks, and ones like Curse of Fenric, will give an easy transition for a modern fan.

@@whophd Not sure why you think most classic fans watched out of sequence. I started in 1973 with Pertwee and Jo Grant in her final season when I was seven and watched them consecutively from that point on as they were shown, going back to view previous episodes as they became available (having read most in Target novelisation form as a kid). Most stories benefit from being seen in order, some - like the Key to Time - having distinct arcs and some villains evolving in a manner best seen in sequence (Kinda and Snakedance, for instance). I would strongly argue this is the ideal way rather than random episodes. Would also strongly argue against working backwards - most McCoy episodes were awful until the final season as were a significant number of Colin Baker's (I'd cite pretty much all of Trial of a TimeLord here, not even daring to mention Twin Dilemma).

DW has had companions who were more interested in getting back home in the past. Barbara and Ian were more wanting to leave the tardis, until they realized that they couldn't go back directly. Tegan wanted to get back to Heathrow airport for her job with multiple misses to get there. It wasn't until she had lost her job between Time-Flight and Arc Of Infinity she was more happier to travel in the tardis.

When watching the trailer, The Timeless Child arc came to mind quite a bit because, through that arc, The Doctor was snatched as a child from another dimension/universe... and a large part of me feels like both Season 1 and now Season 2 could be playing up to a "visit home" where the doctor gets to actually learn more about their own origins? I prefer a series with an episodic structure, where each episode stands alone while subtly hinting or building towards a larger overarching threat that the characters will ultimately confront at the series' conclusion. The leaked shots from the Penarth Pier shoot earlier this year seem to confirm a 1950's setting for the cinema scene. The explanations for those shots said the pier was standing in as a movie theater in 1950's Miami; it had a marquee for a fake Rock Hudson movie title whose letters fell away to reveal "harbinger" a la Season 1. Belinda was also dressed in a style reminiscent of lighter-skinned Black women in the 1950's; though people from India (Sethu was born there) often weren't considered Black in the U.S. South during segregation, Belinda might have had to pass as Black to be seen in public with the Doctor in that time & place.

Belinda being the reluctant companion is something I've been wanting for Doctor Who for a while, getting fed of the companions just hoping on board for a laugh. Might cause a bit friction between her and The Doctor too. Now they need to do non Earth companions next. If the next series is darker, I'm up for it. I feel Doctor Who is better darker and i feel some of RTDs best episodes are darker in tone like Turn Left, Midnight, Waters of Mars ect.

I think, speaking of serial, Doctor Who should return 2 the episode format it had before 2005. They should re-format Doctor Who, make it 5 stories with 4 to 6 episodes a season. Each episode should be no more than 25 minutes long. It worked very well before & will be a lot better than Disneywho is now.

The idea of a 45'-50' episode was Eric Saward's in the '80, and it still makes sense. Having fewer multi episode stories could be the solution for Doctor Who, it would save time and money, allowing for a more detailed storytelling

Throughout Jodie's era the Cybermen were always the 'big bad' and I think after years of being overlooked it was about time they were classed as the big threat and Chibnall really did handle them well, the season 12 Cyberman design was the best ever, however the Dalek's were only used as a novelty villain on the specials... For season 2 I would love to see the Dalek's return as an actual threat

It could be that the 15th Doctor and the ones to come dont have a Iconic Singular Look like the others but a Iconic Style instead. Like the 15th is a Vibrant and Fun and the next could be a whole new style, maybe darker? Maybe quirkier? Maybe even bland? Etc. Just examples and a thought in the back of my head watching the 15th so far.

Maybe it's just that I'm not familiar with Cuphead, but the cartoon scene reminds me more of scenes in Disney's "Get a Horse!", the short that accompanied Frozen, where "Steamboat Willie"-era Mickey, Minnie & co. kept jumping in & out of a movie screen. Though here the character isn't changing from B&W traditional style to CGI like the Disney characters did, still seeing a cartoon character in the "Disney Who" era will invariably leave hints of the House of Mouse. We shall see in Season 2.

It's notable that unlike the first teaser trailer for Season 1 which told us that the series would begin in May with this teaser trailer they didn't tell us when in 2025 the series is coming at all which makes me think they are aiming for an earlier release around March or April but of course can't promise just yet since they need to make sure it will be ready for then! And I have to say, as someone who enjoyed Season 1, I think that despite this being a very short teaser this season already looks LEAGUES better and I think what will benefit it greatly is that there will be more writers and you can already tell, this looks quite different to Season 1 and I love it, I'm especially excited for the cartoons coming to life episode, that looks SO cool and genuinely something Doctor Who has NEVER done before!

I think they didn't give a month for the season premiere because we still have Land and Sea to consider... My guess is we're either going to get Land and Sea earlier in the year and then Season 2 later on so there's less of a gap between the finale and the Xmas special, or the other way around, season 2 first and then Land and Sea, Xmas special. That's my thought. Also I have a theory on the distortion at the very beginning, and I'm wondering if, since the focus is on the Doctor's left hand, if it doesn't have something to do with Rogue's ring?? Maybe it's connected in some way? IDK, maybe it's because it's catching the light, but that was my thought while watching the trailer 🤷

I'd love to see easter eggs of the master slowly (he or she) making it back to annoy the Dr again. Only time will tell (pun intended) when it comes to season 2. I agree the daleks or cybermen would be a very nice return to the norm of Dr who with exciting plots and fresh eyes (new writers).
