Kinda wish the series were 10 episodes, the Sutekh plot could have done with a couple more episodes and an episode with Ruby and the doctor getting know each other and their relationship better. But it's more Dr.Who so I'm just happy to be here on this journey in 2024 🎉

He honestly hasn't really changed since his first era ....the main difference is he's got all YES people no one to critique or change anything before filming g and production begins and he's got less episodes and more budget so it's RTD but no filter ... This is his 6th series now I think it should be expected these 8 episodes are going to troll viewers and be cartoonist fluff

Am hoping they bring back Roger Ap Gwilliam and reveal more about him in the finale, considering it seems to take place in a weird totalitarian version of reality and looks political. Would like it if he was revealed to be the avatar for the abstract entity of destruction/chaos and is aligned with Mrs Flood because she’s the Black Guardian or against her if she’s the White Guardian.

Season 1 was really a victim of poor writing ... The actors where competent and charismatic but the writing was truly terrible.

The fact this is a critique every single year when actually the writing is always good just we get jaded at times ....we had a run of a mixed bag I didn't like this era so far Star Beast to empire of death I only liked three stories Boom, 73 yards and the finale the rest are so substandard ....series 2,3 and 4 first halves mostly were light fluffy too ....but this time it's literally cartoony

@@tomspyro5795 I don't think he ever fought for approval ....it was more in 2003 he knew what Dr Who could be Buffy and cult TV if the 90s/00s as well as the current then climate of earth and society at the time he could incorporate and made Dr Who work in the 21st century ....loads hated on him then too but it was a different arena 2005-9 was literally a totally different world to now ....RTD hasn't changed ....he's always showcasing a lot in all his projects it's just now we have TWENTY years of the show and experienced 5 very different doctors now we've had a nostalgia boost with Tennant and noe have Gatwa to take the show forwards ....whilst I am comparing it to other recent eras that may be unfair but it's skewed for a younger audience again in the hope it keeps us lot and inspired the next generation the next 10 episodes are filmed and commissioned ready to sit so we shall see

Mount Everest reminds one of the Yeti-robots from the Great Intelligence, first encountered by the 2nd Doctor somewhere in the Himalayans. A Harvest Bringer might turn out to be "The Great Pumpkin" for the Halloween season (depending on the screening of the 2nd season), or someone with a cornucopia swamping the world in goodies (god of plenty - overdoing it), with some "be careful what you wish for" morale at the end - for all the fans who want to dictate HOW Doctor Who should be played by those who provide new content to the Whoniverse. Don't argue or condemn, just try to do better yourself and create fan-art, others might find inspireing

As cinema- god of stories/fiction/drama?, we already have the memories become songs/stories and stories / comics of The Doctor's adventures canon and TARDIS it means life fitting in with time is memory/ memory is time, the twist at the end reference fitting stories (re plot twists), Mrs Flood breaking fourth wall and the other acting references re Mrs Flood/ 'Susan Triad' (watch, observe and listen closely, things like 'Susan' pretending there's an audience in an empty room, her 'that's me as the wicked lady' line.... :) ) could also be foreshadowing this albeit not specifically linked to those characters (although the implication the pantheon may have been working together means it's possible these various gods or godlikes that see themselves egomaniac-wise as such could have all been doing things to aid each others rise to power means there is I feel unseen backstory/background stuff that's implied rather than shown thus such characters may connect more than we think and there are these overlaps that would make a lot of sense that we don't have to see to make the connections) This story or similar god idea links nicely back to the TV plot seed from 'The Giggle', TV/cinema similar. Jack in the box (The Toymaker/ mad Jack/ maybe but long stretch jukebox, could box also link TV or maybe even TARDIS?) There's also Mrs Flood's snow and the video tape distortion (similar to old TV signal distortion) snow and the time window snow that may or may not link to Sutekh in and re s1 finale, snow has been quite important in Who.... Also stories can be edited/ changed and drama directed/ cut etc and there's still that nagging feeling there are different versions of the Ruby Road Christmas eve scene and the mystery figure is not just one figure but different figures at different possible same moments of a varied timeline (if not they've messed up by really suggesting that to be the case, especially with The Trickster vibe and the 'time/memory changing' comments of The Doctor, if not so WHY put all that in? Plus it seemed the time window may have been part of the trap to add Sutekh to that moment after that moment but in that bootstrap paradox time travel way thus also before a changed version of that moment, and as I have said there's a time flip re the goblins where it is The Doctor themself dropping baby Ruby off to save Ruby's life, so maybe it's glitching and unclear because it has been different mystery entities in different circumstances but of the same moment in time)- think about the fact the time window is a scene and a TV screen was pivotal in that arc.... Very critically beliefs, myths and folk tales/ entities from similar such as stories were very key to the most recent series. So all links to stories one way or another. Song is a kind of story that is written as sheet music , notated, as a composition and performed. Alternatively The Harvest Bringer as the harbinger link there, something linked specifically to that thematically, harvest can be bringing back to life related, which fits some god/godlike-rivals-to-Sutekh both in Who lore and mythology. Also links to gathering, sometimes in small fragments, judging, eternity, cycles, consequences (reaping what is sown), maybe Mrs Flood's ominous comments to Cherry fit this as they match up rather well (stories can also flip characters between good/evil at their tellers whim and Mrs Flood seems to have, shall we say good days and bad days, or rather moments...) Lots of these harvest themes could fit threads thus far this arc so something from within them could relate to what this specific god/godlike is. Even fits gardening and Who has had some 'gardeners of time' among it's characters that kind of manage the garden of time and keep it in order, at least their idea of order, or disorder (we also saw Tecteun pruning plants I think, division, sorting a harvest, going a bit too far off trail now lol, but there is that possible unresolved that maybe some of what the flux destroyed remains destroyed as The Doctor may not have completely reversed all of that consequence) Also still think Mrs Flood might have a memory/time (we know the two are fused) link re the snow, maybe as a related god/godlike, and maybe with good/evil aspect as memory/time might recall both- it is somewhat unfiltered or can be.... And she has echoed more than one Who character so a manifest entity of memory to echo the memory TARDIS? Another thought: Ruby COULD be ordinary but things and people/entities around her less so.... Already discussed as have others some 'interesting' possibilities around her dad.... And I still think the split TARDIS and which one The Doctor got in are no accident plot seed wise. But could be wrong as so much clever potential like this is missed, so many times I see oh it would be so clever to link a with b but they don't :) I really want something eye of harmony linked with a kind of yin yang good/ bad TARDIS connection, some epic possibilities in that concept. Just an unrelated thing though: some prior discussion said Area 51 was to play a part in the recent series finale 'Empire of Death' but it didn't or I missed it, what happened with that? Was it just a duff theory out there or a misdirect or was something cut? Anybody know? Or did I just miss it being referenced?

As much as I dislike the Maestro villain (because it’s irritating and cringy) at least a god of music makes sense as music arguably has likely existed since life existed eg bird song and things like that(or even before), so it’s an ancient thing, whereas I’m not sure cinema can be considered to be an ancient primal thing that simply exists, it’s a completely manmade concept. Like you wouldn’t have a god of telephones would you it’s just really stupid, no offence

Unless the 1950s god character is an original creation (like Maestro) I think it could be the Gods of Ragnarok since they are the gods that are the most connected with shows and entertainment (also the name above the film's title being Rock could be part of one of RTD's word games)

All i think is that SSUTEKH also known as THANOS mark 2 destroyed the universe so Skaro was destroyed and then brought back and this excuse would be used for the explanation of RTD changing the Daleks so much i am intrigued on how they will look but with the deflation of the mystery of Ruby Rose i;m not sure i am interested anymore with the mystery of mrs flood so because of this and many other reasons i don't think i will be watching anymore.
