This (imo) made it look so much darker than it actually was, which wasn't a bad thing really. I was 10 at the time and did NOT like the new logo nor how the darker direction I presumed they were going, but nonetheless I was 10. The series was still awesome anyway.

FYI, it is the longest running science fiction series in human history. It is watched in dozens of countries world wide, has over 780 episodes spanning from 1963-2012, has millions of fans, makes millions of dollars in merchandising, has spawned several spin-off series, audio adventures, novels, and contains some of the best written, well acted drama you're ever likely to see. Perhaps a 1:10 second trailer is not best evidence to determine how "cool" it is. You think?

I think the 11th Doctor has actually revitalized the action in Doctor Who, that action you remembered from the 9th Doctor, and the classic Doctor Who series. Even though the 10th Doctor was awesome, the action felt like it was gone or something. Then the 11th Doctor came, and then that spark of action-packed adventures came back! :D

Here's how I felt when I saw this trailer. I'm a huge fan of the old series doctors (with Tom Baker FOREVER remaining my fave doc). When I first saw Eccleston and later Tennant I thought: "So, this is the new Doctor. I'll probably grow to like him." And I did very fast, after a couple of episodes. When I first saw Matt Smith in this trailer I thought: "That's the Doctor!" Despite seeing this new doctor for the first time, I recognized him. Surely, that must be a good thing.

you will understand it more if you start season 1 of the new series or even midway in the classic series, but Steven moffats era (season 5- 7 so far) has its own story arcs independent of the Russel T davies era (season 1- 4+ specials)

@samthepsycicclam I agree. Tennant probably should've said "You don't want me to go." It was like R T D tried to channel what the fans felt, rather than giving the 10th doc a dignified send-off. And he was right, most fans didn't want David Tennant to go, but that sentiment probably shouldn't have wormed its way into the show like that. And I think the 9th doc got a more epic end to his career in his last episodes.

I don't think he has a problem with those who think Tennant is their favorite...everyone is entitled to their opinion.
