Wow, this one...Mark Chambers is staggering in the piece. What an incredible voice. The recording at Air, Ben's orchestration, the choir, Jake's mix. I thought it came out pretty well in the end. The regeneration scene was heartbreaking. The way that you could tell it was the end. The doctor was staggering to the tardis doors in more pain than he had ever experienced. I just wanted to hug him and say goodbye ;(

It's not even "I don't want to go" that gets me. No. It's the blasting of The Doctor's Theme after he says it. Which for me is 9-10's theme. But since 9 got more time, I associate it with him more. And it's when that song hits. Man. My feels.

I cried more when Christopher Eccleston regenerated than when David Tennant did, but it's worth remembering that i was 7 in 2005 and 12 when Tennant regenerated. Also 9 is my doctor. But I don't deny which regeneration was more heartbreaking, and it is definitely this one

I really think they should have ended the episode in the exact moment when the Doctor regenerated. Would have held the mood WAY better. Instead they destroyed it with the absurd behaviour of the new Doctor and the party/adventure-like music. That's the worst decision that was ever made in this series.

I don't agree with you, what i like about doctor who is that it's not cliche, it's not what you expect it to be, you're always surprised, and in this scene you are so heartroken and sad by the goodbyes with this wonderful 10th doctor, and right after that they make you smile while you're still crying, because the new doctor seems fun and freaking exciting. They also did that with the goodbyes with rose and i found this type of transition quite awesome! Anyways i understand why you feel that way but for me they couldn't have done a better ending.
