As I was corrected previously, this isn't the first time the Doctors clothes have regenerated along with the Doctor. The first Doctor, William Hartnell, also had a wardrobe change when regeneration into Patrick Troughton. It was subtle but the jacket and trousers changed from to the other.

Noticed another thing, Tennant often spun to look back at the TARDIS while he travelled on his own (most notably in the specials leading up to when he first left) and did it again when he landed in the ally.

Given the fact that Singh can be a surname you arent born with I doubt its a relation. Singh means "lion", and among Sikhs it is often added as a second surname after the fathers surname. So, for example, the head of the NDP party in Canada is called Jagmeet Singh, but his birth surname is Dosangh. Generally this is onlu done with male children. Jagmeets sisters would have had the maiden name Dosangh. It gets additionally confusing as Singh can also be a middle name, common in Hindu families or a title depending on where in SE Asia you are.
