It's 2020 and I'm still not over rose and the doctor. Rose and the doctor had this connection that no other companion has had with the doctor. They loved each other so much, yet they never said it. It breaks my heart to see her never mentioned anymore. It's like she has disappeared from the doctor who universe. I think she deserves more mentions, maybe even another appearance!

I just can't get over the current lack of Rose in DW. I know she's off the show and all, but why is she never, ever mentioned anymore? She's a fairly recent character, and as this video and many other show, she had a huge impact on the Doctor and they were obviously in love. Clara is still mentioned. Even River. Doesn't Rose deserve to be remembered too? I just don't think they're accurately portraying how utterly important Rose and her story were to the Doctor.

Completely agree, I found a small place in my heart for any and even for Clara but I could never with River. If the doctor was going to get married to anyone, it should have been rose

Moffat hates that Rose is a more 3-dimensional companion than Amy, River, and Clara combined. He hates that we still ship Rose with his version on the Doctor. So he tries to make us forget her, and when he can't, he belittles or minimizes her impact on the Doctor. I mean instead of using the Time Vortex from the Bad Wolf plot to allow Rose to project herself into the War to comfort and help the Doctor... he contrives a way for her to be OOC and not even interact with Tennant. Maybe because he didn't think there was room for Clara AND Rose to be in the same room with the Doctor. Maybe because he didn't want Rose to overshine Clara so he had to strip her of her Rose-ness. I would have infinitely preferred if Clara hadn't been able to change the Doctor's mind and so "The Moment" shows herself, and truly channels Rose to talk to Ten. It was kinda disrespectful to bait fans with a Billie/David reunion like that.

Well, while I really love Rose the companions are rarely mentioned again, and especially not after the doctor regenerates. Take Martha, sure she appeared in season 4 as well because she could as she just left without dying/not remembering, but she has never been mentioned after that. Donna hasn't been mentioned since her season either, but probably would have if the doctor hadn't regenerated. Amy appeared to say goodbye to the 11th doctor when he was about to regenerate, otherwise she was never mentioned again (except in the snowmen which was the episode after they died). Clara is the companion with the most episodes in the modern show and like amy she wasn't mentioned after she disappeared except right before the doctors regeneration (to be fair, as the doctor didn't remember her before that she couldn't really appear in season 10). Bill only got to be a companion for one season and hasn't been mentioned again. River is a bit special as she never were a companion really, and met several versions of the doctor. Even so, she was hardly mentioned at all after amy and rory except in two episodes. But Rose IS special. It was clear that the Doctor still missed her especially in season 3 with Martha but also in season 4. The 11th doctor missed Amy in one episode (though it seemed like he has missed her for quite a while then, the show just skipped it), so being mentioned occasionally for two whole seasons after leaving is special. Plus, Rose(ish) is the only companion that got to appear on the 50th anniversary episode (except Clara but she was only there as the current companion). And it's even stated the moment took the shape of Rose (or the bad wolf) as she would be so important to the doctor, it could have chosen any companion but it chose her.

This is why he punched through a wall of diamond for 4 and a half billion years to save Clara and then shot a man - he didn't want to go through something like this again. Rose broke his hearts and he wasn't going to give up without a fight the second time around. It's just a pity Clara didn't love him back the way Rose did. Poor Doctor. That's the curse of the time lords.

I think David Tenant came to the realization that you not only have to be a great actor (which he certainly is) but you have to have someone great preforming with you (which Billie Piper certainly is). The right time and all the prerequisites have to be in place. Everything came together in s02e13 "the story of how I died" Certainly one of the most emotionally satisfying scenes in cinematic history. Certainly the number one in the SciFi category.

I have a theory, now that we know that gallifrey was never destroyed and the time lords are still alive then the doctor can visit rose in the parallel universe right? because in one episode of the second season the tenth doctor said that when the time lords were alive travelling through parallel universes was easy but then they died, so if they're still alive cause the doctor saved them that means that travelling between parallel universes is easy right??
