i wasnt that upset he was a good doctor but towards the end i did start to grow tired of him he became very whiny and like giving a child with adhd coca cola for the first time. matt smith doctor i was devastated but dont know would i of grown tired of him too if he decided to stay another year and they dragged his regeneration out i think 3 years is the right balance for each actor to play the doctor it keeps the show fresh and you dont get too attached or you dont get tired of them.

I think the Ninth Doctor's regeneration was more closer to classic who regeneration. But in this light you can see why it is sadder. I mean, he only has one lifetime left (or so he thinks at the time). That and he knows he will change psychologically and physically.

Dang this was so long ago for me. Was crying at first but then I was like "What the hell is this, and what is going on?" I started with the show just ten or so episodes earlier and was just starting to really enjoy the show quite quickly. Then I saw the episode where that psychic woman said he was going to die when someone knocks four times. I was really disappointed cause I thought the show was nearing the end by that point, and I had little idea about the regeneration. I had no idea that it was a full body thing, I just thought it was just small stuff like an arm or leg growing back after a few hours or so. So when this point came I thought this was the end of the show. I thought "Oh well, shows over, at least they are going out with a bang and OH MY GOD WHAT IS THIS!? WHO IS THIS GUY AND WHAT JUST HAPPENED!?"

Question since the series restarted in 2005 why has all of the doctors regeneration been inside the tardis In the original series it wasn't needed. So why has it become a unspoken rule

I personally think it's because he can be killed during regeneration, so it's far safer for him to be inside the Tardis
