The Fourth Doctor really did go for a beer with the Cybermen. On the Revenge Of The Cybermen DVD, one of the bonus features is an interview with Tom Baker at the Wookey Hole location. And at the end, Tom Baker in costume and 2 actors in full Cybermen gear can be seen entering the pub.
