This sounds like the music for the scene where a very young Yuri was walking along with a funeral procession.... In any case, this is one of the very best movie music from the '60s, along with "Lawrence of Arabia". Thank you, Maurice Jarre, for your genius.

Wow---this is done quite differently from the original opening music in the film. This is nice, but I prefer the original soundtrack version. As the film opens it's especially beautiful, with watercolor/pastel artwork showing the changing seasons in the northern forest.

I bought this in my teen years. It was ages before I could afford the original soundtrack. I'm afraid this spoiled any chance of appreciating the soundtrack as I should. The two versions of Lara's theme are beautiful.
