@@airplanes_aren.t_real I think another possible risk is that if they see a mob they will try and dive towards the mob so you have to continually make sure you are not diving towards the ground. Since this by its self is more of a annoyance then anything let’s say if you get attacked by another phantom or get to close to the ground it will make you dismount.

Heres an idea for a mod : all mob ai is randomized. so whenever something spawns, the game selects a random ai from the pool of ais, and assigns it to the entity. Ive always wanted to see that but didnt know how to make it myself. Also I really like your channel and your videos, I cant see where it goes! Also the reason the ender dragon gets yeeted, is that ender dragons push all mobs away. so if an ender dragon starts riding on something, it pushes away whatever its riding, but it gets pulled in the same direction, so it just hits mach 3

Yeah! that way, every creature has its own AI quirk. Would make for a great addition if every mob had slightly randomised features, so they all looked unique as well... Both of these things are actually done by Rain World, which is a fantastic game with amazing AI.

I think the Phantom bringing mobs *to you* would be a great way to make them menacing and not annoying. There should probably be a cap on how high they can lift you and other friendly mobs up so they don't just insta-kill. I think another thing about them that should be changed is they should spawn mid to late game (because they drop an item that repairs elytras) as well as not being tied to sleep because people usually just want to mind their business and build stuff. Maybe they start spawning after you go to the end? Also a killer idea might be somehow taming them to carry you temporarily by feeding them something around mid-game, since elytras are just the better option for flight but that would be a bit more extreme of a mod.

Maybe they should spawn in the soul sand valley by default, but after getting an advancement for being picked up by one, insomnia turns on. They should also eat something like warped grass or soul weeds (bonemeal soul soil or soul sand to get some black tendrils that look like grass had a baby with soul sand)...

I wonder if it's possible to change their dropping behavior depending on the entity they target or pick up? Because phantoms could be a crazy menace if they start grabbing nearby evil mobs and dropping them from a safe height near the player. But at the same time if they grab a villager or the player, they want to drop you as high as possible.

The idea of Phantoms carrying you is amazing. So here is a Phantom Rework idea There are 5 Different Types of Phantoms Snatchers: They lunge at you and steal arrows,armor, weapons and then valuables. Signified with talons Carriers: Either Pick you or mobs up. If they carry you for 15 seconds you will be dropped. Carriers try to pick up Creepers to bomb you. Signified with Bigger wings Swarmers: If a Swarmer spawns, 3 pre-rework phantoms spawn with it. Every time a swarmer dives, all 3 minions dive. If multiple swarmers are nearby they will form a Hive. Hives are made of 3 Swarmers and at least 9 Minions. Hives spawn a minion for every hit a Swarmer deals. Hives have bright yellow eyes and Swarmers have a mark on their underbelly Embers: the red nether variant, they pick you up and drop you into lava OR steal gold on you whether it’s equipped armor or gold ingots Shadows: The End Variant they are pitch black except for purple eyes and claws on the end of their wings. They dive down to grab you and if they hit, they teleport you somewhere random within 50 blocks. If you are within 50 blocks of the edge/void They will teleport you above the void before dropping you after 2 seconds (so you don’t instantly die)

This is great lol. A phantom expansion mod seems like it’d be pretty great, thinking about it. I’ll definitely have to look for one of those next time I’m playing minecraft. Only thing missing from this mod is some spawn mechanic changes to make them more common and an end specific phantom that drops you in the void like the nether drops you in lava, lol. Excuse it by saying the end is too dark and sleepy so you can’t make them go away rofl

This is pretty tame. How about: A phantom called the Stuka that is immune to explosion damage, causes explosions when it attacks an entity, and makes the Stuka siren noise as it flies and a more intense siren when it dive bombs you. It should also dive bomb and destroy the roof of your house so it can make another dive bomb attempt on you when your no longer under a roof. It of course should be hostile to every entity that isn’t a phantom.

Even just adjusting the animation makes them more interesting, having more motion in the wing flaps, barrel rolling when they swoop, I love the idea that they slowly get stronger each time the hit you so you can't just ignore them too

My guess is that the dragon is flinging the phantoms when they collide with it, much like it flings the player way up into the air, but at the same time the phantom is picking it up. So it winds up getting carried away at ridiculous speeds by the flung phantom.

So, I think what happens is that the phantom picks up the dragon, but the dragon’s wings yeet the phantom far away, but since the dragon is now attached to the phantom, it goes spiraling with it.

I think what happened in the end is that the ender dragon has an always active "pusher" hitbox around herself, with, well, pushes entities. what probably happened is that when a phantom grabbed the dragon, said pusher tried to push away the phantom, but since the phantom was holding the dragon, it just resulted in a "push pull" loop of sorts with then caused the pair to be "flinged" off into the distance

the reason why the phantoms go with speeds that sonic can only dream of when picking up the ender dragon, is because the dragon will fling them away, but the dragon is attached to the phantom, making it an infinite loop of the phantom being warped and the dragon being dragged along

When you get too close to the dragon, then it flings you away. i think that because the game is trying to fling the phantom away, and the dragon is attached to the Phantom it is trying to fling, it just goes crazy lol. Personally, i would keep it, but mainy because it is so amusing

If anybody cares why the dragons are getting yeeted, it's because when a phantom grabs the dragon, it touches its hitbox, which leads to the phantom, and the dragon riding it, being yeeted.
